The exhibition explores the production, consumption and distribution of food, as well as its socio-cultural uses and religious significance. Cornucopia complicates the art historic lineage of the still life by interrogating and raising questions around the ethics of food today. Located within the Greater Shepparton region, known as the ‘food bowl of Australia’, the show also celebrates the culinary traditions of regional Victoria.

ATTENTION TO OUR FILM REVIEWERS!
I got two screeners from Roadshow Films / Roadshow Home Entertainment:
- War And Peace S1 (BBC One; on DVD/blu-ray release on March 9)
- ABC Afghanistan: Inside Australia's War (DVD release March 9)
Please raise your hand to pick up one of the screeners for review )conditions apply). Offer ends: Wednesday, Feb 17 at 0600pm.

Synopsis
War and Peace
Widely regarded as one of the greatest novels ever written, War And Peace is a timeless story of three young people set against the epic backdrop of Russia’s wars with Napoleon.
At the centre of it all stands Pierre Bezukhov (Paul Dano), a hot-headed newcomer in Russian society, brimming with ideas but hopelessly lost as he seeks meaning in his life. His sincere good nature is a comfort to his friend Andrei Bolkonsky (James Norton), a cynical prince who is sick of his stifling marriage and longs for glory on the field of battle.
Both their fates are bound to the beautiful, captivating and kind-hearted Natasha Rostova (Lily James) – only a teenager when the series begins, but desperate to grow up and experience the world.
Over eight years of peace and war that will change Russia and its people forever, we meet a vast cast of unforgettable characters, from peasants and soldiers to society hostesses and even Napoleon himself. But again and again, through marriages and affairs, battlefields and ballrooms, births and deaths, we will keep returning to Pierre, Andrei and Natasha as they confront life’s great questions of love and destiny.

Synopsis
ABC Afghanistan
The definitive account of the war in Afghanistan from a uniquely Australian perspective. A forensic, impeccably researched series that in some ways resembles the classic 'Brook Lapping' style of contemporary history; ie. Death of Yugoslavia, Iran and the West, Iraq, etc. Based on exclusive interviews with decision makers, generals, 'grunts' and the Afghans with whom (and sometimes against whom) they fought, this is an ambitious 'first draft of history' of a much debated war.

The New Vegan book

16/2/2016

THE NEW VEGAN
once a famous sculptor said about his art: "to create a great sculpture I take a piece of rough stone and I remove all the unwanted parts from it..." being a vegetarian is not as simple as being a great sculptor: you can not take the meal and remove all the meat from it. it does not work this way. it is not as simple. you should change you mentality and the way you look at food.
with sculptures you can always break the final art piece that did not turn out ina good way and start a new one. with sculpturing your body vegetarian way there are many lessons to learn. when you start your journey please take advises from the wise ones, use the recipes that will help you. finally even if you eat gold, grass or flesh you food will be organically turned in your body into what it wants: blue or grey eyes, dark or golden hair or no hair at all, it will be turned magically into your blood and muscles, into your brains and into your heart. what matters is how well this food "flows" in your body and happily it is absorbed. there is no difference between any living form. it does not matter what you consume: everything IS LIVING CREATURES, not only sheep and cows, but carrots and cabbage also know everything and even more than you. well, if you were more approachable they would eat you instead of you eating them. but let's come back to our veggies and cooking the vegan way. The book I have in front of me is written by Aine Carlin and she cooks it right! the book contains not only cooking recipes but the bath milk recipes, foot, facial and body scrubs and exfoliators (cruelty free beauty which i personally adore), very simple to make deserts, salads, baking, mains, snacks and sauces, soups, sandwiches and pastas, juices and smoothies, even the pickles find its place it the book; steps, tips and ingredients are all there as well ad some absolutely awesome photography... well the book is dangerous as if you open it up you will run to your kitchen and start cooking. I counted more than 90 recipes ready for me to continue changing my way of looking on food...
Thanking sincerely Simon & Schuster and the author Aine Carlin for this meat-free expedition!

A Haunting In Cawdor

we have one more new movie for review
A HAUNTING IN CAWDOR
Saw’s Cary Elwes kicks off a roll call of hot faces including Shelby Young (TV’s American Horror Story), Michael Welch (Twilight, TVs Z Nation), and Allie Deberry (Lazer Team) in a frightening twist on Shakespeare’s Macbeth that’s being called one of the “surprises of the year” (lalafilm).

In this tense tale of psychological terror, Vivian Miller (Shelby Young) is a young twenties woman who's serving out her jail sentence at a work release program in the Midwest. Her 90 days of probation takes her to The Cawdor Barn Theatre, a dilapidated summer stock theater run by Lawrence O'Neil (Cary Elwes).

Lawrence, a failed Broadway director, is now reduced to staging amateur productions with young parolees and raging over the mistakes from his past. Vivian's arrival in Cawdor starts a terrifying series of events that brings Lawrence's secret past to the present. After Vivian views an old taped stage production of Macbeth, a force of evil is unleashed which soon turns its sights on her. With the help of Roddy (Michael Welch), a local outcast, Vivian sets about trying to discover who the supernatural killer on the tape is before she becomes the next victim.

Written and directed by Phil Wurtzel, A Haunting in Cawdor will hit theatres around the country and be available on Demand March 11
by Uncork'd Entertainment

Please raise your hand to be the first one to review this sensational movie . Please note that the movie is given for review on certain conditions:

Another Other is a 79 minute multimedia performance created by four of Australia’s leading experimental artists: Natasha Anderson, Sabina Maselli, Anthony Pateras and Erkki Veltheim.

Fusing experimental opera, expanded cinema, sound art and installation, Another Other is based on a radical re-reading of Ingmar Bergman’s film Persona (which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016).

Another Other shakes the illusion of the self. It is an unsettling, darkly comical and visceral live performance work.

THE BRIDE FROM MOSCOW book
About the Author
Natasha Lukin (Bella Natalie Lukinova) draws on her many and varied experiences as a Russian and Australian. With her background in Science and Journalism, she worked as a reporter and scriptwriter for news and current affairs on Moscow television, including the popular in late 80s – early 90s program Good evening, Moscow!
She also was a freelance journalist for various Soviet newspapers and magazine, and authored several non-fiction books, all in Russian language.
Natasha migrated to Australia in 1992, shortly after the August coup, when there was much disillusionment with Perestroika.
She started her new life with teaching Russian at the University of Melbourne and got accredited by NAATI as interpreter/ translator. She worked for the next ten years as a Health educator for the Cancer Council of Victoria. Currently she lives in Canberra, being self-employed in the familiar field of health, fitness and lifestyle.

Watch The Sunset

16/2/2016

WATCH THE SUNSET film
About: 'Watch the Sunset' was shot on location in the country town of Kerang, Victoria. The cast and crew were able to utilise the entire town of Kerang as our set for the film, where the action follows through 8 different locations in this beautiful regional town. Using actors amongst a real community to bring true sincerity, honesty and immersion into identifiable Aussie backdrop.

The story centers on Danny Biaro, an outlaw bikie member, who wants to change his ways and start a new life with his estranged family. But his past quickly catches up to him and he is compelled to make a decision that will affect his life forever. The journey follows him rushing against the clock to save his family.
'Watch the Sunset' has an underlying theme about effects of Crystal Meth or Ice, which is very real contemporary Australian issue. The one shot concept of our film allows the viewers to observe the harsh reality of this regional problem on
an intimate and raw level. But at the core of this film we find a story of love and an unrelenting quest for redemption.
Official website: http://www.watchthesunsetfilm.com/

Please raise your hand to get this movie for review on conditions of exclusively private watching, not sharing any information, sending u the review in one week and us listing your name as a reviewer on our La Premiere ages. I only need one trusted good writer for this offer. Please reply by Monday Feb 15 0300pm to get the opportunity to review.
