Polly Borland celebrated in new exhibition featuring her iconic images of The Queen, Nick Cave and Gwendoline Christie. The National Gallery of Victoria presents an exhibition of new and recent work by renowned Australian artist Polly Borland, who is famed for her beguiling photographs of noted figures, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, musician Nick Cave and actress Gwendoline Christie.
The exhibition includes 60 works spanning the last 10 years and reveals Borland’s celebrated ability to render the body in alluring, enigmatic and surreal compositions, often inviting the viewer to see the human form in unfamiliar ways. A new tapestry work of Borland’s celebrated photograph of The Queen, taken for Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, is a highlight of the exhibition. The tapestry was created in collaboration with Fine Cell Work, an English prisoner’s advocacy organisation that trains prisoners to undertake paid, skilled needlework from their cells. A further selection of tapestries based on Borland’s photographs are on display, presented double-sided to allow viewers to admire both the composition and highly skilled construction of the work.
The exhibition also includes works from several of Borland’s recent series, including Bunny, in which Gwendoline Christie’s distorted figure is used to subvert the idea of a Playboy bunny girl, and the carnivalesque Smudge featuring Nick Cave, in which her subjects – disguised by garish wigs, stockings and make-up – oscillate between the masculine and feminine, fantasy and reality. In a mesmerising large-scale display, Borland showcases a new series of large lenticular works, taking the illusive quality of her portraits to new, three-dimensional scales. A never-before-seen body of new work, Morph, created especially for the NGV exhibition, is also on display.
‘Borland shoots on film, taking many rolls to achieve the final images, and never altering the works in post-production. The works reveal Borland’s finely crafted skill for capturing uncanny moments that stretch our understanding of the human body,’ said Tony Ellwood, Director, NGV. Further information is available from the NGV website: NGV.MELBOURNE
Bohemian Rhapsody Club and Magazine is proud to officially cover this exhibition (media: Susan Reynolds) Please stay tuned for more information coming up soon.

IN A WORLD FIRST – AC/DC HITS LIKE YOU’VE NEVER HEARD THEM BEFORE, FEATURING A ROCK N ROLL ROYALTY SUPER BAND: TIM RIPPER OWENS (JUDAS PRIEST) – SIMON WRIGHT (AC/DC) - STEVE BALBI (NOISEWORKS/MI-SEX) – JOEL MCDONALD (ROSE TATTOO) - JAMES MORLEY (THE ANGELS) – PAUL CHRISTIE (MONDO ROCK)
WITH 30 piece Symphony Orchestra CONDUCTED BY GEORGE ELLIS Without question, AC/DC are one of the greatest rock bands in history. Their mammoth power chord roar became one of the most influential hard rock sounds of the '70s and is synonymous to rock culture to this day.
It continues to be one of the defining sounds of rock and metal, and combined with the larynx-shredding vocals of Bon Scott (1974 – 1980) and Brian Johnson (1980+), the band enjoyed commercial success well into the 2000s, even up until 2016 selling out stadium shows across the globe. LET THERE BE ROCK – ORCHESTRATED is a world first and brings to light a unique production scale that brings the thunderstruck sounds of AC/DC in to a world all of its own, featuring a line-up of some of the world’s best rockers coming together to form a super group and backed by a 30 piece Symphony Orchestra to power out the biggest sound ever created!
Triumph Motorcycles have been associated with rock 'n' roll since the 1950s when they became the rockers bike of choice – even partnering with AC/DC on their Black Ice album release. Simply by purchasing a ticket to a Let There Be Rock show, patrons will go in the draw to win a Triumph Bonneville Street Twin featuring a Brat Tracker Inspiration Kit (valued at $18,000.00). You want Rock? You want Grit? You’ll hear the full orchestrated rock arrangements of many AC/DC classics including 'Highway To Hell', ‘You Shook Me All Night’, 'T.N.T', ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ and so many more in this two-hour concert production. Imagine ‘Back in Black’, the seminal anthem of generations, with the power of the 30 piece Symphony Orchestra conducted by Australia’s most celebrated conductor – George Ellis, behind one of the most rocking super bands that can be assembled!
Titled in recognition of AC/DC’s fourth Australian album released in 1977, Let There Be Rock – Orchestrated will feature ALL the hits from AC/DS’s career from both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson era’s. With a second to none line-up featuring AC/DCs own Simon Wright, Noiseworks founding bassist Steve Balbi, Guitar legend Joel McDonald, former bassist for ARIA Hall of Famers The Angels James Morley, Mondo Rock bassist Paul Christie, and featuring the vocal stylings of Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens of Judas Priest and introducing the most powerhouse female rock vocalist in the country Cynthia Gallie on lead vocals, this show will prove to be one of the most exciting Rock ‘N’ Roll events to hit Australia this year. Tim 'Ripper' Owens is a Grammy nominated American hard rock singer who first gained attention as the lead singer of Judas Priest (1996-2003) and then Iced Earth and Yngwie Malmsteen. Tim currently tours the World as a solo artist and performs as the Lead Singer for the band Charred Walls of the Damned with Richard Christy from the Howard Stern show. Tim has also started a super group called Project Rock with James Kottak (Scorpions), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper, Slashes Snackpit, John Waite) Rudy Sarzo (Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio) Teddy Zig Zag (Guns N' Roses, Carol King). The movie Rockstar (featuring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston) was loosely based on Tim's time in Judas Priest.
Steve Balbi has a reputation not only as a beautiful singer / songwriter and an unparalleled front man but he has also transcended generations in acts like The Electric Hippies, Noiseworks, Universe, Move Trees, Mi-Sex and recently in a brand new band called Moon. Steve Is in touch with the raw magic needed that makes people love and need live music. He is held in high regard across the Australian music industry and has also been credited with some magnificent producing credits to his name. Drummer, Simon Wright joined AC/DC after the departure of Phil Rudd in 1983. AC/DC recorded three albums with Wright in the mid-late 80’s including ‘Fly On The Wall’, ‘Who Made Who’ and ‘Blow Your Video’. Wright left the group in 1989 to join American heavy metal band, Dio.
As one of the nation’s most sought after players, Joel McDonald sits at the tip of the spear of Australia’s most influential guitarists. Being lead guitarist and musical curator for Frankie’s World Famous House Band (of cult venue Frankie’s Pizza, Sydney), both locals and savvy visitors alike bear witness to the cutting edge of Hard Rock guitar - a residency that has seduced some mighty collaborations with acts including KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Whitesnake, The Cult, and Five Finger Death Punch!
James Morley achieved fame as a member of legendary Australian band and Australian Hall of Fame inductees The Angels. Their most successful period saw them achieve multi-platinum album sales and a solid spot at the top of the Australian Charts. Since then Morley has recorded and performed with an array of the world's best artists from bands such as AC/DC, Richard Clapton, Def Leppard and Meatloaf, and featured in the 2004 movie 'Thunderstruck' playing the part of iconic AC/DC guitarist Angus Young. Paul Christie came to prominence as a member of the second and most successful line-up of the group Mondo Rock, which was founded by former Daddy Cool leader Ross Wilson. Christie performed on many of the group's hits in the early 1980s including "State of the Heart", "Cool World", "Summer of '81", "Chemistry", "No Time", "The Queen and Me" and "In Another Love". After leaving Mondo Rock, Christie founded the all-star touring group The Party Boys in November 1982 which featured the talents of high profile Australian artists, James Reyne, Richard Clapton, Shirley Strachan, Marc Hunter, Angry Anderson and John Swan.
Cynthia Gallie is fast becoming Australia’s newest dynamic female rock vocal sensation. After leading the charge for the “Bon But Not Forgotten” support slot in July 2017, Cynthia captivated audiences with her mind-blowing vocals that rival the best. Compared to the likes of Australian iconic bands The Divinyls and The Baby Animals as well as 70s rock band Heart, Cynthia does justice to Bon and Brian like never before. Have you ever heard someone belt out Back in Black like Brian did in 1980? You will now!
All thanks to our friends at AAA Entertainment Bohemian Rhapsody Club and Magazine cover the 30 November concert (media: Peter Morris andBryanna Reynolds) Please stay tuned for more details.

In Like Flynn

Umbrella Entertainment / @UmbrellaFilms and #NedAndCoPR present a new action adventure called In Like Flynnhttp://www.umbrellaentfilms.com.au/movie/in-like-flynn/
in cinemas October 11
In 1930, before Errol Flynn became one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, a young Errol, braving cannibals and crocodiles searched the jungles of Papua New Guinea for his Eldorado. While serving as a guide for a Hollywood producer, Errol discovers a map on a dead prospector that he believes will lead to a fortune in gold. Back on the streets of Depression-era Sydney, Flynn rounds up a ragtag crew to help him find the gold, including Rex, a Canadian ex-bootlegger, Dook, an English gentleman handy with a pistol and Charlie, a grizzled old salt. After stealing the Sirocco, a yacht belonging to Chinese Opium smugglers, Flynn and crew set sail.
They quickly learn just how perilous a voyage up the Australian east coast can be, running afoul of drunken cowboys, corrupt cops and local thugs before being intercepted by the Chinese smugglers, who are hell-bent on retrieving their Sirocco and the several pounds of opium stashed in the hold. As Flynn and crew make a final dash for New Guinea, they encounter their greatest foe yet, nature itself and sailing straight into a treacherous reef.
In Like Flynn is a mythical and satirical coming-of-age story about four men on a journey to find hope, adventure and fortune in an age when the world was spiralling into despair.
Thanks to our friends at #NedAndCoPublicity Bohemian Rhapsody Club and Magazine had an opportunity to give away 10 double passes to the in season screening of the new movie. A Course In Miracles: Lessons 287-291

LESSON 287
You Are My Goal, My Father. Only You.
Where would I go but Heaven? What could be a substitute for happiness? What gift could I prefer before the peace of God? What treasure would I seek and find and keep that can compare with my Identity? And would I rather live with fear than love?
You are my goal, my Father. What but You could I desire to have? What way but that which leads to You could I desire to walk? And what except the memory of You could signify to me the end of dreams and futile substitutions for the truth? You are my only goal. Your Son would be as You created him. What way but this could I expect to recognize my Self, and be at one with my Identity?
Picture
Picture
Let Me Forget My Brother’s Past Today.
This is the thought that leads the way to You, and brings me to my goal. I cannot come to You without my brother. And to know my Source, I first must recognize what You created one with me. My brother’s is the hand that leads me on the way to You. His sins are in the past along with mine, and I am saved because the past is gone. Let me not cherish it within my heart, or I will lose the way to walk to You. My brother is my savior. Let me not attack the savior You have given me. But let me honor him who bears Your Name, and so remember that It is my own.
Forgive me, then, today. And you will know you have forgiven me if you behold your brother in the light of holiness. He cannot be less holy than can I, and you can not be holier than he.
Picture
LESSON 289
The Past Is Over. It Can Touch Me Not.
Unless the past is over in my mind, the real world must escape my sight. For I am really looking nowhere; seeing but what is not there. How can I then perceive the world forgiveness offers? This the past was made to hide, for this the world that can be looked on only now. It has no past. For what can be forgiven but the past, and if it is forgiven it is gone.
Father, let me not look upon a past that is not there. For You have offered me Your Own replacement, in a present world the past has left untouched and free of sin. Here is the end of guilt. And here am I made ready for Your final step. Shall I demand that You wait longer for Your Son to find the loveliness You planned to be the end of all his dreams and all his pain?
Picture
LESSON 290
My Present Happiness Is All I See.
Unless I look upon what is not there, my present happiness is all I see. Eyes that begin to open see at last. And I would have Christ’s vision come to me this very day. What I perceive without God’s Own Correction for the sight I made is frightening and painful to behold. Yet I would not allow my mind to be deceived by the belief the dream I made is real an instant longer. This the day I seek my present happiness, and look on nothing else except the thing I seek.
With this resolve I come to You, and ask Your strength to hold me up today, while I but seek to do Your Will. You cannot fail to hear me, Father. What I ask have You already given me. And I am sure that I will see my happiness today.

What is the Real World?
The real world is a symbol, like the rest of what perception offers. Yet it stands for what is opposite to what you made. Your world is seen through eyes of fear, and brings the witnesses of terror to your mind. The real world cannot be perceived except through eyes forgiveness blesses, so they see a world where terror is impossible, and witnesses to fear can not be found.
The real world holds a counterpart for each unhappy thought reflected in your world; a sure correction for the sights of fear and sounds of battle which your world contains. The real world shows a world seen differently, through quiet eyes and with a mind at peace. Nothing but rest is there. There are no cries of pain and sorrow heard, for nothing there remains outside forgiveness. And the sights are gentle. Only happy sights and sounds can reach the mind that has forgiven itself.
What need has such a mind for thoughts of death, attack and murder? What can it perceive surrounding it but safety, love and joy? What is there it would choose to be condemned, and what is there that it would judge against? The world it sees arises from a mind at peace within itself. No danger lurks in anything it sees, for it is kind, and only kindness does it look upon.
The real world is the symbol that the dream of sin and guilt is over, and God’s Son no longer sleeps. His waking eyes perceive the sure reflection of his Father’s Love; the certain promise that he is redeemed. The real world signifies the end of time, for its perception makes time purposeless.
The Holy Spirit has no need of time when it has served His purpose. Now He waits but that one instant more for God to take His final step, and time has disappeared, taking perception with it as it goes, and leaving but the truth to be itself. That instant is our goal, for it contains the memory of God. And as we look upon a world forgiven, it is He Who calls to us and comes to take us home, reminding us of our Identity Which our forgiveness has restored to us.

LESSON 291
This Is A Day Of Stillness And Of Peace.
Christ’s vision looks through me today. His sight shows me all things forgiven and at peace, and offers this same vision to the world. And I accept this vision in its name, both for myself and for the world as well. What loveliness we look upon today! What holiness we see surrounding us! And it is given us to recognize it is a holiness in which we share; it is the Holiness of God Himself.
This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. I do not know the way to You. But You are wholly certain. Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me.
