Sharmill Films present #NationalTheaterLive with NTL: Follies
in cinemas February 17
Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical is staged for the first time at the National Theatre and broadcast captured live to cinemas. New York, 1971. There’s a party on the stage of the Weismann Theatre. Tomorrow the iconic building will be demolished. Thirty years after their final performance, the Follies girls gather to have a few drinks, sing a few songs and lie about themselves.
Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production, joined by Australian stage and screen legend Philip Quast, winner of the Oliver Award for Best Actor in a Musical more than any other performer in history. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, Follies is directed by Dominic Cooke (The Comedy of Errors). Winner of Academy, Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards, Sondheim’s previous work includes A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George.

added 85 new photos to the album: Kwacha vs Rada vs Garden Street Garden — in South Yarra, Victoria, Australia.
Published by Natasha Marchev · December 7 at 9:56pm ·
today's project "Tea.. progressing to coffee..." highlights:
~ make up on the gorgeous international opera singer Rada Tochalnastarted under the Jam Factory's major tower by Luba Yaroshik
~ very grateful to Tony Collins who came neglecting his damaged last night knee
~ Karl Mandekic and Amanda the owners of the Garden Street Gardenkindly allowed us to use their premise and even to move their furniture and figurines around
~ Ivan Motyrev is one handsome model, too bad I am not 20 years old but Tony kindly make me some "fridge photos of Ivan :) I am suspicious half of these shoots might end on Tony's fridge too :)
~ Kwacha Luka arrived like an African thunderstorm and started dressing Rada in her just made (30 hours of night work) red 120 meters of fabric and 12 layers dress... which all the girls would looooooooooooove to have in their wardrobes
~the props prepared earlier by Elena Tretiakova Millinery saw the light taken out of the boxes
~ Ivan got dressed (mainly undressed)
~ Ivan thanks @RajKiran for the pants
~ I am finally seeing my concept / vision materialising , in action
and it looks even better than I saw it a couple of weeks ago...
~ Rada is not breathing... she sings for us a piece of aria from La Bohema (?)
~ (earlier at the jam) we meet the guy who shows us where the good coffee is sold... lately he comes to see us at the GSG where we suddenly discover that he is Russian and we will be taking him as a model for our next projects.
~ we have many curious people sneaking in the shop and watching what we do
~ we using the animal heads from the shop walls in the fun way as part of our props - they are superb!
~ Ivan shows us some yoga
~ the climax of the day: Ivan announcing that he bought the newly made red dress for Rada 's Christmas - the smile on Rada's face does not come off for 15 minutes ... The moment is so emotional that we all start crying... The price of the dress is not disclosed. It suits the princess, it suits and fits the glamorous opera singer in the best possible way it will make her raise to the higher grounds even more enchanting
~ the flowers by Bunch After Bunch make the photoshoot even more colorful and tender
~ I try to style Rada the best possible way. I am grateful to Kwacha and Luba for helping me out with staging.
~ I think my new fox collar also did very well on Rada's shoulders ( a present from @ElenaTretiakova it had a secret plan for a free ride in my car to South Yarra and a bit of a fresh-air-having-fun-routine)
~ Rada realises why the rich women always had slaves - such dresses are impossible to put on without a little bit of efforts from the back - corsets are made to be fit in not by the ones who wear them.
~ the bouquets giveaway concluded the project.

THURSDAY December 7 we are looking for a very very good MUAH for some light highlights to be done to a naturally gorgeous face of one famous opera singer - Rada Tochalna ahead of her photoshoot in a very secret garden (permission by the owner is granted, South Yarra area) - the photoshoot starts at 0930am . If the make up/ some simple hair can be done by that time that would be perfect... we have something mind blowing going on (in mind) so would greatly appreciate the help of our MUAH(s) . Please PM me - this is EDITORIAL work, TFP strictly as all our projects.

Paul Potts new album: On Stage

Catalyst PR present new Paul Potts' album
NEW ALBUM A DECADE AFTER Britain's Got Talent WIN
Susie O'Day-Cashmere was lucky enough to receive a copy of the album before the official release date and she kindly reviews it for all our readers:
"ON STAGE”
GENRE: Opera
“On Stage” is the 4th album the talented Paul Potts has now released and it doesn’t disappoint. The former Britain’s got talent winner has once again blown us away with a mixture of wonderful and brilliantly executed musical pieces from musicals most of us know and love.
Paul has been touring for the last ten years and his talent is continuing to go from strength to strength. His performance of each song on this album is sincere and extremely powerful, brimming with emotion.
The selection of songs will appeal to many people, including myself and I am not usually an avid fan of opera. The songs selected from the well known musicals on the album, are such that there is something for everyone. It’s a well thought out selection and Paul’s magical tenor voice nails each and every one of them.
The songs include:
The impossible dream (Man of La Mancha)
Stranger in Paradise (Kismet)
Bring Him Home (Les Miserable)
If I Loved You (Carousel)
Send In The Clowns (A Little Night Music)
Love Changes everything Aspects Of Love)
Til I hear You Sing (Love Never Dies)
Mit Gewitter Und Sturm (Steersman’s Aria, Flying Dutchman)
Recondita
Armonia (Tosca)
Some Enchanted Evening (South Pacific)
Tonight (West Side Story) Duet with Christina Johnston)
Somewher (West Side Story)
If Ever I Would Leave You (Camelot)
Nessun Dorma! (Turandot)
Paul Potts sings every song with emotion, sincerity and depth. No melodramatics just beautiful heartfelt interpretations. A former cell phone salesman, belting out a range of Opera is not something I thought I would enjoy. I was wrong.
Paul Potts’ On Stage is a beautiful album, his voice is faultless and I find myself singing along with him at the top of my voice. Not usually an opera fan, I fail to fault this album.
I give Paul Potts’ “On Stage” $9 out of $10 on the “cashy scale”!!

Paul Potts RELEASES NEW ALBUM ON STAGE A DECADE AFTER BGT WIN
AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE HERE: http://smarturl.it/PPottsOnStageAU
A DECADE AFTER WINNING THE FIRST EVER BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT, UK TENOR, PAUL POTTS, ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF MOST AMBITIOUS ALBUM TO DATE
It’s ten years since Paul Potts became the first ever winner of Britain’s Got Talent in front of a record breaking 12 million viewers, with his jaw dropping version of ‘Nessun Dorma’. Now, one of the UK’s most popular tenors celebrates the past decade with the release of his most ambitious album to date, ON STAGE released today, Friday October 13th (which happens to be Paul’s birthday) through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. ON STAGE, Paul’s fifth studio album, is a collection of songs that have either inspired or been performed by Paul in leading roles - from Broadway to the West End - during his extraordinary career. To mark the 10-year anniversary of Paul’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent, the opera superstar includes a new rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’ as the final track on his new album. Plus, with his current brand partnership with Pot Noodle notching up close to half a million views in less than week, Paul Potts is proving that he’s still as popular as ever.
A Potts Potted History: Britain's Got Talent transformed the mobile salesman from Bristol into one of the UK’s best loved fairy-tales; with his BGT audition of ‘Nessun Dorma’ remaining one of the most-watched videos in YouTube history. His debut, multi-platinum album ONE CHANCE reached No1 in 13 countries and he’s been invited to perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Performance on two occasions. Paul’s best-selling autobiography followed a Hollywood film about Paul starring James Corden, and he’s released 4 studio albums and a Greatest Hits anthology, collectively amassing over 4 million sales. Over the last decade, Paul has received standing ovations at an astonishing 879 performances across 44 countries in 291 towns.
Now Paul Potts celebrates a sparkling decade at the top with the release of his most ambitious album to date. ON STAGE is an epic album majestically interpreting x15 songs from musicals which have either inspired or been performed personally by Paul. It includes ‘Impossible Dream’ from The Man of La Mancha, ‘Till I Hear You Sing’(which Paul says is “from the underrated sequel to Phantom of the Opera, ‘Love Never Dies’, which has great passion and power”), ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Misérables, and a vulnerable rendition of ‘Send in the Clowns’ from A Little Night Music, which Paul admits is one of his personal favourites. “I love the simplistic beauty and sadness of that song. It shows that passion doesn’t necessarily need a high octane, high pitch note for it to be touching. There is something in the understated in Sondheim’s music here that really strikes a chord with audiences all over the world.”
Paul’s enduring passion for music sees him still sharing his incredible gift with fans in every continent, from performing at Sydney Opera House, having his own headline show at The Royal Albert Hall, and performing in front of more than a million people at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Paul’s continuing success is an inspiration to generations of fans across the globe, and he says, “I will always appreciate the gift that people have given me through their support over the last ten years. I feel honoured and grateful to have this time doing what I feel I was born to do. Here’s hoping I’m still doing what I love in another ten years!’”
‘ON STAGE’ TRACK LIST

Mirusia, Australia's Songbird and her Secret and her beautiful Voice
“FROM THE HEART” @FromTheHeart
by Fanfare Records
special thanks to Catalyst PR and @CatSwinton for the opportunity to review the album.
Released September 2017
review by Susie O'Day-Cashmere :
I am ashamed and embarrassed to say that prior to this album, I had not heard much about the artist “Mirusia” much at all. I knew of her, but clearly not enough! After listening to the album “From the heart”, I am now possibly one of her biggest fans.
Her voice is flawless. A mixture of Opera, Contemporary and Musical theatre, the quality and tone of Mirusia’s voice is extremely difficult to fault. It’s no wonder she toured over the years as the star Soprano in André Rieu’s global concert tours.
The songs on this album will not appeal to all, but it would be hard to find anyone that could fault Mirusia's voice. Each and every song on the album was chosen by Mirusia, representing the myriad of feelings e find in our hearts.
The song list is as follows:
“From the heart”
“Journey”
“Besame Mucho” (A Latino classic)
“Within my heart”
“You are so beautiful” (The magnificent Jo Cocker classic)
“Love is a gift” (Duet with Lachlan Gillespie of The Wiggles fame)
“La Vergine Degli Angeli”
“Unusual way”
“You raise me up”(duet with Carmen Monarcha)
“I could have danced all night”
“He was beautiful”
“Memory”
“Softly as I love you” (Frank Sinatra Classic)
Most of these songs I knew and some I did not. However, this didn’t matter at all, as I soon became familiar with each song, playing the music over and over! Broadway show tunes, Classic songs, Opera and Romantic themes.
A musical crossover that will please existing fans and establish new ones such as myself! Simply beautiful

“The telephone is sometimes more dangerous than the revolver, its tangled cord drains us of our strength, while giving us nothing in return.” - Jean Cocteau
Shattered by their break-up, a woman calls up her ex-lover. Pleading with the voice on the other end of the line, she sinks deeper and deeper into despair. With a touch of Hitchcock’s Rear Window, we watch the scene, and the woman herself, unravel.
Four of Melbourne’s finest emerging opera singers star in one of opera’s most powerful monologues, where a lonely woman lays bare the heartbreak of unrequited love. Adelaide Greenaway, April Foster, Bethany Eloise and Lisa Lally take on the stark emotional honesty in a piece based on an original play by Jean Cocteau.
With its heartbreaking portrayal of a relationship’s breakdown, the intensely voyeuristic La Voix Humaine by Francis Poulenc is theatre at its most brutal.
Taking place in a series of tiny rooms, BK Opera has taken a 20th century opera classic and created a unique and visceral theatre experience. This is opera up-close, intimate and unrestrained.
Sung in French with English surtitles. Warning: Contains adult themes, themes of suicide
Thanks to our friends at BK Opera Bohemian Rhapsody Club and Online Magazine proudly covers the special media opening night (media: art and fashion curator Dina Gavrilova). Please stay tuned for more information
