Rick’s rich heritage set against a country Queensland backdrop led to the international heady heights of success back in the ‘90’s with hit singles and album ‘Not A Day Goes By’, ‘Walk Away Renee’ and, ‘Heaven Knows’, for which he also received the APRA Song Of The Year Award. Rick was also recognised for his efforts overseas being awarded the Export Music’s ‘Outstanding Achievements Abroad’ and recently APRA’s ‘Overseas Recognition’ Award for his work as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. “Soulville” is Rick’s 10th studio album and was released through Sony Music Entertainment in August 2021. His soulful renditions on this twelve-track album are a ‘tip of the hat’ to his heroes and influences in music. These classics come from the 1960’s, Crème de la crème soul legends and include Eddie Floyd’s ‘Knock On Wood’, ‘Walk On By’ by the iconic Dionee Warwick, the immortal Aretha Franklin’s ‘Chain Of Fools’ and ‘Soulville’, Martha and the Vandellas ‘Dancing In The Streets’ and a stirring version of the time-honoured Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change is Gonna Come’. The one original track on “Soulville” is ‘Farewell But Not Goodbye’, is a tribute to the “Queen of Soul”, herself the late great Aretha Franklin, written by Price and fellow Aussie hit maker John Capek. “I can’t wait to play this album live!! I’ll be performing tracks from “Soulville”, a collection of songs from the 1960’s Soul Era. ‘In The Midnight Hour’, ‘Stand By Me’, ‘Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay’, ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’... just to name a few. Some shows will be with a full Band and some will be solo electric. See you soon!” – Rick Price “The voice of this soulful Australian has the power to silence rooms and move hearts, as he belts out notes created by the God's themselves. Each word is delivered with such reassurance and understanding, while each note and chord goes out of it's way to invoke emotions within you”. - Mark Spencer All thanks to our friends at Catalyst PR, Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is covering Rick's tour (media: Kieran Mcnamara Photography and Katherine Kelly). please stay tuned for more information special thanks: Cat Swinton A new single from album 'THIS IS A RECORDING' "Be Like Water" by Greg Nunan & The General Jacksons was released on FRIDAY, March 25 https://www.gregnunan.com/
Please follow Jeanette Russell's review: Be Like Water is a catchy song with rhythm, soul. Some masterful guitar playing is involved. This is Greg Nunan's second single from their new album called' This is a recording". The blues rock song has great vocals from Greg , he plays guitar as well as song writing, a very gifted man by all accounts. Also strumming on guitar is Felix Akurangi, Mark Holbert is on Bass and Liam Chandler is playing the drums. Their first album was called "Kites For Hurricanes". The guys have toured Oz, and also overseas. The song's message seems to me to be, be adaptable like Water, and how it fits the shape of its vessel. As Bruce Lee had said many times in the past, in interviews, and a documentary, " Be Water" The band has launched their new single "Be Like Water" at Northern Beaches, NSW, at Bucketty's Brewing Company where a new craft beer was created with the same name and released at the same time as the single. Below are the official release details also in Northern Beaches . Well worth catching the tune please look out for "Be like Water" by Greg Nunan and the General Jackson's band. Nunan is a very talented man and the band members are skillful players. Please have a listen to their latest song. Saturday April 2 - Bucketty’s Brewing Co. It has been internationally released. Last year Jade had a single "Fight For It." which was in quite a different vein. During the first few months of lockdown Holland wrote the song, and has been waiting to release it. She stated it was from "Nashville to Brisbane to Hervey Bay" via zoom that she completed it. .Jade wanted to portray the lovely lifestyle she lives in , being the sunny state of Queensland. She is very grateful for this and proclaims " it's like falling in love every day". Jade wanted to fashion, a different kind of work this time as she felt " After so many songs about heartbreak, I wanted to feel the sweetness of love in a song". The tune has a country / pop vibe and feel. The songstress wanted to manufacture this track to encompass feeling good, and encouraging listeners to visit beaches in all seasons. Sung in a beautiful and authentic way, "Summertime Sunshine and You'' , is a swinging toe tapping tune, to dance and move too. Later in the year Holland will release a new album. Her debut this year had been a great effort, to lighten the mood and keep listeners engaged with the music and her lovely voice in harmony with the band. A great performance, I highly recommend it. Please listen to "Summertime Sunshine and You", and await the album in the later half of the year. I am most impressed by this talented and creative ladies' art. Thank you for the chance to review it. special thanks: Cat Swinton of Catalyst PR https://youtu.be/r74Uqzib7zw please enjoy this new video https://youtu.be/r74Uqzib7zw 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL Australia will run from February 16 - April 17 2022 at Capitol Theatre, Sydney camera: Hakam Soufan https://youtu.be/r74Uqzib7zw special thanks: Dolly Parton, Sharonne Lipman and IP Publicity Music by : https://www.bensound.com #9to5 https://youtu.be/r74Uqzib7zw image below: Neil Chand https://youtu.be/r74Uqzib7zw FRIDAY, February 18 marks Jade Holland's official release of her new single called "Summertime, Sunshine and You" https://jadeholland.com/ Regional Queensland based singer and songwriter, Jade Holland, makes a welcome return in 2022 with her brand-new single ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You” due for international release on 18 February 2022. Following on from the number one Australian Country Radio success of “Fight for it”, the official anthem for the 2021 Walk for Awareness, “Summertime” sees a return to Holland’s country pop roots and is the catchy feel-good song of 2022 that keeps us longing for the beach all year round. “Living in Queensland, the climate and lifestyle are just so unique and beautiful, it’s like falling in love every day. After so many songs about heart break, I wanted to feel the sweetness of love in a song that puts me right back into summer mode regardless of what time of year it is.” Holland shares. With her next album due for release in November 2022, “Summertime” builds the bridge for this country girl’s catalogue of songs from heart break right through to love and marks the beginning of a new chapter in her journey in music. “Being unable to travel and tour has led me to a deeper understanding of myself as an artist. The stories that I share about love and life in a small Aussie country town reflect a sentiment that so many people relate to.” Holland adds that ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You’ is the perfect taste of what’s to come from her - musically and as a female artist. Thanks to the worldwide COVID lockdowns, ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You” became a quarantine project managed across time zones. Co-written by Jade with David Mescon and Bruce Wallace in Nashville in April 2020, it was recorded in Australia and Nashville and produced by David “Messy” Mescon at Messy Room Studios in Nashville and Athenian producer, George Ahas Lignos, in Parafonik Studios in Brisbane. Internationally acclaimed and loved by audiences and critics alike, 9 TO 5 is pure gold carat fun! The producers have assembled a top line cast to inhabit these iconic and much loved roles. Marina Prior will play Violet Newstead, a smart, sassy and efficient woman who has worked all her life at Consolidated Industries. She has all it takes to run the company but there is one small issue ... her boss! Marina gained prominence as Cosette in the Australian premiere of Les Misérables and Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera, and has grown to become one of Australia’s most accomplished leading ladies, playing lead roles in The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, The Secret Garden and countless other productions. Casey Donovan will be Judy Bernly, a newly separated, never worked before young woman who finds more than just a job at Consolidated Industries. Casey shot to stardom after winning Australian Idol as a 16 year old in 2004, and has since become an audience favourite in concert and in musical theatre. Most recently she played Matron Mama Morton in the smash hit musical Chicago, and has performed in The Flower Children, The Sapphires, Rent and We Will Rock You. Erin Clare will play Doralee Rhodes, a ‘don’t mess with me’ well-brought-up, bright and beautiful country gal. She may look like a push over but is anything but! Following her first starring role as Scaramouche in The Gordon Frost Organisation’s national tour of We Will Rock You, she has featured in Heathers the Musical, American Psycho, High Fidelity, American Idiot and Merrily We Roll Along. Caroline O’Connor plays busy-body Roz Keith, the administration assistant who is fiercely - and unrequitedly - in love with her boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Most recently seen in Melbourne Theatre Company’s Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Caroline has played lead roles on Broadway, in the West End, France and across Australia, including Chicago, Anything Goes, West Side Story, On The Town, Man of La Mancha, Bombshells, A Christmas Story and Anastasia to name just a few. Caroline also created the role of tango dancing Nini Legs in the Air in Baz Luhrmann’s Academy Award winning film Moulin Rouge. Eddie Perfect will play the controlling boss Franklin Hart Jnr. One of Australia's most respected and prolific writers and performers, Eddie is perhaps best known as all-round nice guy Mick Holland on Channel 10’s hit series Offspring, and has been seen in Kath and Kim, Spicks And Specks and numerous comedy shows including ABC TV’s Stand Up, The elbourne Comedy Festival Gala and Good News Week. On stage Eddie performed in Keating! The Musical, Misanthropology, The Threepenny Opera and Shane Warne The Musical, which he wrote himself. In 2019, Eddie wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway premiere of Beetlejuice, for which he was nominated for Best Original Score at the 2019 Tony Awards. Completing the cast are Lily Baulderstone, Ana Maria Belo, Zoe Coppinger, Mia Dabkowski-Chandler, Ben Gillespie, Emma Hawthorne, James Haxby, Emma Johns, Jay Johns, Ethan Jones, Antonia Marr, Josh Mulheran, Tom New, Jake O’Brien, Matthew Prime, Jackson Reedman, Jordan Tomljenovic and Jessica Vellucci. “I am so excited that Marina, Casey and Erin will be playing Violet, Judy and Doralee alongside Caroline and Eddie in the Australian cast of 9 TO 5,” said Dolly Parton. “The response to 9 TO 5 from around the world has been incredible so far. I can't wait for everyone down under to have a fun (and funny!) night out at 9 TO 5.” Producers John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Suzanne Jones and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions said, “We’re thrilled with our glorious cast, led by Marina, Casey, Erin, Caroline and Eddie. Now 9 TO 5 is back in business with a full cast, theatres booked and audiences clamouring to buy tickets. So put on your Saturday best and join us for the most fun you’ll have all year at 9 TO 5.” A sensation on the West End and inspired by the hit film, the musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three enterprising workmates pushed to the edge by their mean-spirited boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Resorting to wit, comradery and cunning, they dream up a no holds barred scheme to kidnap and turn the tables on their controlling supervisor in the most hilariously defiant of ways. The only question is, will the feisty trio manage to change the office culture to reach their full potential - or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit? With a sparkling score by Dolly Parton and a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, 9 TO 5 is the quintessential feel-good show for the times. Cachucha, fandango, bolero, Sullivan was truly inspired to write such delicious Italian and Spanish melodies. Gilbert’s satire of Republicanism is still as fresh today as ever. “When everyone is somebody then no one’s anybody”.
