Miss World Australia contestants are eager to commence their ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ journey with Variety the Children’s Charity.
Miss World is the largest and most prestigious international beauty pageant in the world hosting 130 countries at one of the most exclusive events of the year. Delegates from across the state will be judged on their Introduction, Eveningwear and the Question & Answer section for their chance to represent Western Australia at the 2016 National Final held in Melbourne.
Megan Quick from Quinns Rocks will be participating in the glamourous event and is excited to commence her journey with Miss World Australia 2016. Charity work is integral to the Miss World ethos and as part of the brief all State Finalists must volunteer their time and fundraise for charity.
Megan Quick is especially enthusiastic about commencing her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ journey with Variety the Children’s charity. She already volunteers her time at the Blood Donation Drive at her former high school (Quinns Baptist College) where she was the head prefect. In the past she has been awarded the Positive Young Role Model of the Year by 'One Day of Positivity'. The 19 year old is also a passionate swimmer. She has completed the Rottnest Channel Swim and swam in the Busselton Jetty Swim for the last 4 years.
It is now time for her to make her debut in the Miss World Australia Beauty Pageant! Other contenders in the competition also include 18 year old Sonny Yawary from Madeley.
Sonny is currently studying a bachelor of Law/Commerce at the University of Western Australia. She wants to be an advocate for those that are less fortunate than her and strives to empower women. Yawary said this was part of the reason as to why she entered the Miss World Australia Pageant which has a heavy focus on encouraging women to succeed in all facets of life.
Four lucky ladies will be selected from the WA State Final to go through to the National Final in Melbourne in late July- but only one will become Miss World Australia!
