Unfunded, unscripted, candid and raw film grabs, taken at different intervals over a 7 years period make up this inspiring 40-minute documentary.
It intimately covers the challengers involved in making a life size statue of the Tibetan Deity, 'Green Tara' This very beautiful sculpture was requested by Buddhist Monks and was made in dedication without fee by multi disciplined Artist Barbara McLean.
This unique documentary falls softly on you and shows a world far from mainstream and is not to be missed. Gently informing and capturing seldom seen footage of the Monks attending to the complexities and rituals involved in the consecration of the statue, it gives an insight into eastern tradition
Perhaps best known for sculpting the 38 Bronze portraits of Australian Tennis Champions housed at the Rod Laver Arena, McLean is an internationally recognized Artist. Her interest in eastern philosophy is also portrayed in her garment inclusion at the exhibition ' 200 Years of Fashion’ currently showing at Federation Square
All profits from this screening will be directed to the Kopan Monastery in support of their caring for the earthquake victims in Nepal
