For seasoned collectors, new home buyers, history buffs, and those among us who just cannot face another flat-pack, Melbourne’s largest Antique and Collectables fair will have something to suit every home when it returns to Caulfield
Racecourse. Spanning over three days, sixty of Australia’s best 20th Century, antique, Art Deco and vintage dealers will transform the indoor concourse into a showcase of the most unique and covetable items available in Australia. More than 1,000 pieces of fine furniture, lighting and decorative arts will be on display straddling the ornate Georgian era, to the crisp
and clean lines of the mid-20th century. Interior designer Renee Woolridge, from Designed Space, will be on hand to
demonstrate how to harmoniously style spaces using pieces from any era and assist visitors considering an investment or
simply looking to fall in love with something special.
With a price range to suit all, visitors can expect to discover treasures across furniture, jewellery, luxury goods, fine art
and prints and collectables. Melbourne’s fashion enthusiasts will have an opportunity to view, and even acquire, rare pieces from an exhibition of French and American couture collected from the swinging 60’s famed Space Race era, featuring garments by Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, Emilio Pucci and Helen Rose – the designer behind Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown. In addition, two fashion parades will be held daily over the Saturday and Sunday, showcasing a retrospective of Melbourne Cup Fashions of the Field styles, as well as an extended showcase of 60’s designer pieces.
