cooking Buckwheat and Vegetables using as promised the recipe from the book Yallateef! by #MarwaMakool @marwamakool
I am publishing my snaps step by step and the final photos.
ingredients (slightly changed for this recipe):
1 cup buckwheat
1/2 tbs rice bran oil
1 onion chopped
1 carrot sliced
1 zucchini sliced
150 g kalamata olives
1/2 tsp of ras el hanout (can buy at Oasis AU Bakery)
1/4 tsp Moroccan dukka (Oasis)
1/4 tsp hawaii (Yemeni spice mix) ( Oasis)
1/2 tsp carob molasses
1/4 tsp charlic )red and green chillies pickled in garlic and oil) (Oasis)
1/2 tsp no salt salt
I used my favorite sour cherry drink and cherries in season for decorations
onions and carrot are fried, olives and zucchinis are added then spice and water with buckwheat . I cooked the veggies and buckwheat for 20 min till ready as I like my buckwheat cooked well.
ready in no time - very easy to cook
but wait till you taste it - I had Misha and Irene at home last night - the whole pot was gone in 6 minutes - some eaten on the spot and some was taken away home - I have a smallest bowl left for morning photos and for Alex and myself to share. The kids gave it 9/10 and said it was the tastiest dish they tried in months. I wonder what they cook (?) :)
