ATTENTION TO ALL CREATIVE MINDS:
photographers, designers, writers, models, artists, stylists, MUAHs, artistic directors and others alike:
there is the challenge described:
FATA ORGANA
n. a flash of real emotion glimpsed in someone sitting across the room, idly locked in the middle of some group conversation, their eyes glinting with vulnerability or quiet anticipation or cosmic boredom—as if you could see backstage through a gap in the curtains, watching stagehands holding their ropes at the ready, actors in costume mouthing their lines, fragments of bizarre sets waiting for some other production.
The word comes from...
The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows
ANNOUNCING COMPETITION
on the best concept / style photograph or set of photographs that will fit into the category "FATA ORGANA" with the focus on 'fiercely feminine'
We publish the best photos in our next upcoming artbook
The due date for submission is 12 May 2022 1200pm
The works of art should be sent in the form of a direct dropbox link or direct wetransfer link with the full list of credits and your story of inspiration to accompany it
to natasha.marchev@gmail.com or in PM.
Your original photos should be a highly acclaimed art in fashion - each image should be like a part of a collective story for the magazine pages therefore making it more readable for everyone who opens it.
good luck!

NEW MARQUIS ART BOOK HAS BEEN RELEASED!
NODUS TOLLENS
"n. the realization that the plot of your life doesn’t make sense to you anymore—that although you thought you were following the arc of the story, you keep finding yourself immersed in passages you don’t understand, that don’t even seem to belong in the same genre—which requires you to go back and reread the chapters you had originally skimmed to get to the good parts, only to learn that all along you were supposed to choose your own adventure"... with the focus on les garçons et les filles.

Madman Films invite you to watch a new documentary called Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts 2022
in cinemas 21 April
From the famed director of Notting Hill and Tea with the Dames comes ELIZABETH. A nostalgic, uplifting and modern documentary about Queen Elizabeth II – the greatest British monarch of all time and longest serving female head of state in history. For the last nine decades Queen Elizabeth II has been entrenched in our collective consciousness: instantly recognisable, yet elusively and perpetually unknowable. Until now. With extraordinary access to rare footage from the Royal Archives, ELIZABETH is a truly cinematic celebration of an icon that reveals a unique glimpse of the woman behind the legend.

HOW TO PLEASE A WOMAN

28/4/2022

Madman Films invite you to watch a new comedy called HOW TO PLEASE A WOMAN
in cinemas May 19
Gina is not feeling fabulous. She has lost her job and feels stuck and frustrated in a passionless marriage. She has always lived life on the sidelines – that is, until she is met with a groundbreaking business opportunity of converting a team of well-built moving guys into well-built housecleaners. Initially the response from her ocean-swimming community is immediate, and her all-male cleaning staff an instant hit. Finally, she is the boss she has always wanted to be. But, as her business booms, her clientele demands something more – sex, or better yet, pleasure. Faced with something far more than she imagined, Gina and her team, including her foodie manager Steve, launch an enterprise that is all about getting intimacy right between people. For the first time, the women experience desire on their own terms. As Gina faces the highs and lows, the joys and struggles of maintaining such a unique business, she learns to stand up for herself, to look out for her own happiness and pleasure, and to take control of her life. HOW TO PLEASE A WOMAN is a precarious, often hilarious and revealing journey into the vulnerable world of what women really want and how hard it can be to get it right.
Starring Sally Phillips, Erik Thomson, Alexander England, Ryan Johnson, Josh Thomson, Cameron Daddo, Tasma Walton, Caroline Brazier, Hayley McElhinney

Moro Spanish Film Festival in Australia 2022, Astor Theatre, Palace Films and Miranda Brown Publicity invite you to
MORO SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL OPENING NIGHT
DATE: 21 April 2022 with the festival following dates in Melbourne till My 15
LOCATIONS: Palace Cinemas, Melbourne
WEBSITE: https://www.spanishfilmfestival.com/
The Moro Spanish Film Festival presented by Palace returns in 2022 with a curated selection of 34 films offering film lovers a cinematic journey across Spain and Latin America. Screening nationally in Australia from 19 April, the 24th edition of the festival features two key programme strands: New Spanish Cinema and Cine Latino. From Spain, the New Spanish Cinema selection includes:
THE DAUGHTER (La hija) - from one of Spain’s most intriguing auteurs, Manuel Martín Cuenca, the cleverly constructed film sees a pregnant teenager come to a tense agreement with the couple sheltering her and stars Javier Gutierrez (Champions, SFF 2019).
From Latin America the Cine Latino programme strand includes:
FORGOTTEN WE’LL BE (El olvido que seremos), an adaptation of Héctor Abad Faciolince’s memoir about his father, Colombian professor and campaigner Héctor Abad Gómez. This tender family drama set in the polarised, violent Medellin of the 70s, is from award-winning director Fernando Trueba. This year’s Festival also boasts an Australian connection with the premiere of locally produced OUR VOICES (Nuestras Voces). A powerful reflection on the strength and resilience of immigrants, this documentary by Diana Paola Paez tells the story of a group of Spanish-speaking migrants who arrived in Victoria between the 1960s and 1980s and showcases their contribution to modern Australia.
The 2022 Moro Spanish Film Festival is a celebration of Spanish language, culture and cinema. Join us for music, tapas, and more at the various special events taking place throughout the country.
OPENING NIGHT FILM: OFFICIAL COMPETITION
https://www.spanishfilmfestival.com/.../official-competition
Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory) and Penélope Cruz Official (Parallel Mothers) unite with Oscar Martínez (The Distinguished Citizen) in this bitingly funny behind-the-scenes satire of filmmaking from Argentine writer-directors Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat. Finding his legacy lacking in prestige, an octogenarian tycoon (José Luis Gómez) impulsively decides to finance a great work of cinema. Demanding the best of the best, he purchases the rights to a Nobel Prize–winning novel about sibling rivalry and renowned filmmaker Lola Cuevas (Cruz) is recruited to mastermind this ambitious endeavour.
A visionary with a penchant for offscreen theatrics, Lola casts as her embattled co-leads a pair of actors with massive talent but even bigger egos: Hollywood heart throb Félix Rivero (Banderas) and radical theatre actor Iván Torres (Martínez). Both are legends, but not exactly best friends. Through a series of increasingly eccentric trials set by Lola, Félix and Iván must confront not only each other, but also their own legacies. Awash in egomania and deliciously absurd hijinks, Official Competition is a playful yet sharp comedy skewering wealth, art, and pride.
All thanks to our friends at Miranda Brown Publicity, Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is covering the festival opening night reception (media: Taylor Cougle) . please stay tuned for more information

Australian singer/songwriter Rick Price heads out on the ‘Soulville’ Tour from May 6th ’22 to perform all the tracks from his album “Soulville” along with those classic hits, we all know and love. Rick’s rich heritage set against a country Queensland backdrop led to the
international heady heights of success back in the ‘90’s with hit singles and album ‘Not A Day Goes By’, ‘Walk Away Renee’ and, ‘Heaven Knows’, for which he also received the APRA Song Of The Year Award. Rick was also recognised for his efforts overseas being awarded the Export Music’s ‘Outstanding Achievements Abroad’ and recently APRA’s ‘Overseas Recognition’ Award for his work as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer.
“Soulville” is Rick’s 10th studio album and was released through Sony Music Entertainment in August 2021. His soulful renditions on this twelve-track album are a ‘tip of the hat’ to his heroes and influences in music. These classics come from the 1960’s, Crème de la crème soul legends and include Eddie Floyd’s ‘Knock On Wood’, ‘Walk On By’ by the iconic Dionee Warwick, the immortal Aretha Franklin’s ‘Chain Of Fools’ and ‘Soulville’, Martha and the Vandellas ‘Dancing In The Streets’ and a stirring version of the time-honoured
Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change is Gonna Come’. The one original track on
“Soulville” is ‘Farewell But Not Goodbye’, is a tribute to the “Queen of Soul”, herself the late great Aretha Franklin, written by Price and fellow Aussie hit maker John Capek. “I can’t wait to play this album live!! I’ll be performing tracks from “Soulville”, a collection of songs from the 1960’s Soul Era. ‘In The Midnight Hour’, ‘Stand By Me’, ‘Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay’, ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’... just to name a few. Some shows will be with a full Band and some will be solo electric. See you soon!” – Rick Price
“The voice of this soulful Australian has the power to silence rooms and move hearts, as he belts out notes created by the God's themselves. Each word is delivered with such reassurance and understanding, while each note and chord goes out of it's way to invoke emotions within you”. - Mark Spencer
All thanks to our friends at Catalyst PR, Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is covering Rick's tour (media: Kieran Mcnamara Photography and Katherine Kelly). please stay tuned for more information
