Russian starry sturgeon or beluga
- is primarily found in the Caspian and Black Sea basins, and occasionally in the Adriatic Sea. Heavily fished for the female's valuable roe—known as beluga or black and most valuable caviar— the beluga is a huge and late-maturing fish that can live for 118 years. It is also considered to be the most ancient out of all fish species (if you see the fish in nature you will definitely notice that it looks like it saw the dinosaurs, it has that pre-historical appearance...). The largest generally accepted record is of a female taken in 1827 in the Volga river estuary at 1,571 kg and 7.2 m. These great sizes mark the beluga as the largest freshwater fish in the world.
I had a chance to buy some nice small two pieces of this fish recently - the fish we did not see on our table for the last 22 years now since we left Russian shores. It was cooked for the whole family the old traditional way... more photos:

 Blue Bay Cheese's photo.

CONTEST ON BLUE BAY CHEESE PAGE!!!!! I love all the products by Blue Bay Cheese but just recently I also tried The Blue Bay Cheese Natural Yogurt (which is our beautiful Prostakvasha!) and the fresh taste was so awesome - like from my grandmother's farm (in Kursk) - back from my childhood... She had her own cows and the dairy products tasted like they should taste and smell: green sweet and lash grass from the black rich soil, generous mama-cow and welcoming home with white towels. This particular B.B.C. Yogurt brought all my early years of childhood memories back and I remembered my grandma cows' milk taste with wild strawberries, and that huge size cuppa of fresh and warm yellowish milk with froth on the top right from her milky bucket... It was a symphony in my mouth! What an authentic taste! I recommend everyone to buy and try Blue Bay Cheese products and experience the natural sensations too... You will never forget it! The products can be purchased everywhere now... just look for the new blue/white labels now and read them properly.

Max Davine comments: "The book I am launching is Dino Hunt - a cross between Jurassic Park and Star Wars, a wildlife wrangler named Jimmy Reeves is sought by a mysterious corporation to rescue animals from a tyrannical conglomerate on another planet; and this time it's not little doggies he's heading up and moving out; it's real, live dinosaurs! Joining him are Paleontologist Leanna Williams, who's beauty matches her brains but who's heart seems to dither between her good intentions and her dreams of personal glory; and pilot Ailbhe "Crash" Kalujic, an Australian vagabond who's playful demeanor and cherubic appearance veil a fearsome, savage spirit." Jimmy Reeves is a down on his luck wildlife wrangler, his career once saw him traveling the globe, working on relocation programs and starring in documentary films. Now, he and his business partner Paul Franciscus are lucky if they can get a gig wrangling bulls in Arizona. St Petersburg Ballet: Swan Lake

"...The theatre fills, the boxes glisten,
The orchestra, the stalls, they seethe,
The circle claps to make all happen,
The rustling curtain as we breathe
Soars, glistening half-ethereal,
To the magic bow in thrall,
A host of nymphs around her, so
Istomina stands, serious
One foot planted, pirouettes
Takes a leap and, like down, sets
Off as if blown by Aeolus,
Twists her waist one way, another,
Spins, beats one foot on the other..."
