Hail, Caesar! film is an incredible masterpiece coming from the genius minds of Coen brothers who rock on so many instruments in their orchestra at once you will forget you are watching the farce-like "movies inside the movie" and will believe the story unfolding in front of your eyes is all true... Starring the magnificent assemblage of Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich,Ralph Fiennes, Unofficial: Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatumand so many more talents the film will take you on a funny but cleverly designed journey inside the Hollywood of 50-s:

MELBOURNE, CLASSIC CINEMAS --
Mon 2 May 1:30pm
Mon 9 May 7:15pm

The acclaimed literary folklore of renowned Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichemserved as inspiration for Ukrainian filmmaker Eva Neymann , whose third feature film offers a vision of the lost world of the Jewish shtetl at the beginning of the 20th century.
Growing up in a beautiful but insular Hasidic community in turn-of-the-century Ukraine, both guided and bound by tradition, the outgoing young Shimek submits with resignation to his conservative parents strictures. Restrained in his love for Buzya, it is only when he is sent away from the village that Shimek confronts the true depths of his feelings. The news of Buzya’s forthcoming marriage sparks Shimek’s return home.
An ode to childhood love, this beautiful and reverent tale is imbued with a sense of nostalgia as it follows the lives of Shimek and Buzya who inhabit the cloistered sphere of an orthodox religious community, their love torn between tradition and modernity. With a sumptuous visual style Neymann constructs a remarkably detailed atmosphere evoking the long lost world of Europe's Jewish shtetls.
A darling on the film festival circuit, this film premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, receiving the Award of Ecumenical Jury as well as being voted both Best Picture and Best Ukranian Film at the Odessa International Film Festival.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL WHO LOVES GOOD CINEMA!
Coming back to Cinema Nova for its second year is the‪#‎GreatBritainRetroFilmFestival‬ 2016 ‪#‎BGRFF2016‬, curated by the one and only David Stratton ! Sixteen classic British films back on the big screen starring the likes of Maggie Smith, Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers and more!
Dates: May 12 - 25, exclusively at Cinema Nova.
"I spent the first 20 years of my life in Britain so I’ve always been fond of British movies which is why it was most gratifying to see the terrific response to the first Great Britain Retro Festival last year. It’s particularly pleasing to include films in which Australian talent made major contributions – ace Perth-born cinematographer Robert Krasker provided the unforgettable images for ODD MAN OUT, and the luminous Judy Davis is magnificent in A PASSAGE TO INDIA. In all, a feast of British cinema.” - DAVID STRATTON

today we watched one amazing movie called The Ladykillers (1955) giving it 10/10. Please stay tuned to read our review coming up soon.
