 is at Hummingbird Elwood.
 · Branch vegan style with a friend at the Hummingbird Elwood with the Entertainment Book that gives you half off mains .
we ordered
If you are ever in the area just pop in and enjoy the atmosphere and the delicious food
We ordered potato gnocchi with vegetables and kale and one more vegetarian dish with yummy potato cakes, rainbow color vegetables and very tasty fried polenta cakes on the top. Order just to try as you won’t regret it. The are located at the very quiet Elwood corner and very close to the beach, just a chic place with excellent food and very European accents. The rest of the menu is very intriguing and I look forward to try ore dishes from this place. I am still to discover my fav dish what we tried was amazing!

Mind Blowing Films and Miranda Brown Publicity cordially invites you to
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Opening Night
DATE: Friday 9th August 2019 7pm
LOCATION: Hoyts Australia THE DISTRICT DOCKLANDS, 440 Docklands Dr, Docklands
WEBSITE: http://www.iffm.com.au/opening.html

Join the celebration of 10-year anniversary of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2019! The night will commence with a grand inauguration by our chief guest, internationally beloved star - Shah Rukh Khan. Commemorating a dynamic line up of mainstream Indian cinema, arthouse and Indie movies, short films and documentaries – this years’ theme of ‘Courage’ resonates with cast and crew alike in each of these silver screen creations. To celebrate this milestone, we are screening the highly anticipated Australian Premiere of Rima Das’ incredible film ‘Bulbul Can Sing’.
"I met our protagonist Bulbul while shooting Village Rockstars and was able to connect this internal journey about the trilogy, to explore teenage feelings and thoughts, researched by interacting with the village teenagers, issues they face in school and surroundings and their life in general. First love, the experience of it, outcome – be it positive or negative and how it impacts one’s journey of life, came across to me as a story worth telling.” Rima Das
BULBUL CAN SING, Rima Das’ third feature film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2018, in the Contemporary World Cinema section. Followed by the Asian Premier at Busan International Film Festival and will be having its European premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival (Generation 14 section) 2019. Bulbul Can Sing is about Bulbul, a young girl, living in a village in Assam, India, fighting her way through love and loss as she figures out who she really is!
The Festival is ecstatic to screen it at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne as the Opening Night Film, with Ms Das in attendance for a Q&A afterwards.

MLIVE cordially invites you to experience
My Brilliant Career
A NEW MUSICAL BY DEAN BRYANT AND MATHEW FRANK
DATES: 18-25 October 2019
VENUE: @AlexanderTheatre at Monash University 48 Exhibition Walk, Monash Uni, Clayton
WEBSITE: https://www.monash.edu/…/whats-…/events/my-brilliant-career/
TICKETS: https://mlivetickets.monash.edu/…/EntaW…/ShowDatesCombo.aspx
Based on the legendary coming-of-age novel by Miles Franklin, the musical adaptation of My Brilliant Career takes us into the world of fiery misfit Sybylla as she wrestles against the restricted life on offer for a young woman in rural Australia a hundred years ago. We follow wannabe-writer Syb from her drought-struck farm to the paradise of her grandmother’s estate, where she grows into her looks and her mind, fighting and flirting with the local aristocrats. An offer of marriage forces the ultimate choice; will she become just another wife or risk it all in hopes of a ‘brilliant career’?
The production forms part of the Jeanne Pratt Musical Theatre Artists in Residence program, a groundbreaking collaboration between Monash University performing arts students and professional artists that aims to create and promote the development of Australian musical theatre. Written by Dean Bryant and Mathew Frank, who won Green Room awards for their musicals Prodigal and Once We Lived Here, the score promises a mix of period Victoriana and contemporary pop, bringing to vivid life one of Australia’s most loved feminist characters. My Brilliant Career is presented by The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music - Monash University, The Centre for Theatre and Performance and Monash Academy of Performing Arts in association with the Jeanne Pratt Musical Theatre Artists in Residence Program.
All thanks to our friends at MLive Monash Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is proudly covering the Saturday performance (media: #SamBell) Please stay tuned for further details.

Heart and Soul by Matt Zurbo

26/7/2019

#MediaChampions, Slattery Media Group and AFL Publishing present a new book called #HeartAndSoul, Footy stories by those who played the game by Matt Zurbo https://books.slatterymedia.com/…/heart---soul--footy-stori…
“Football is a heart and soul game,” AFL Legend Ron Barassi once told Matt Zurbo. Taking that observation as his cue, Zurbo travelled across Australia interviewing players great and good, from the famous to the journeymen. In doing so, Zurbo—himself a veteran of 650 amateur games and counting—has recorded the footy stories of some of the game’s characters, from Rene Kink and Graham Cornes to Joe Misiti and Robert ‘Bones’ McGhie. The result is the players’ oral history of footy through seven decades, in their own words. In Heart and Soul: Footy stories by those who played the game, Zurbo has skilfully revived memories of the classic games, the torturous training sessions, and the premiership hijinks, taking us back into smoke-filled social clubs and the suburban fortresses at which myths and legends were born. For every marquee name like Barassi, from whom familiar and fantastical tales spill, there is an Ian Paton, Russell Renfrey or a Mark Zanotti—characters whose outsized tales of lives spent chasing a Sherrin never got quite the same airtime as the superstars of the game. Their stories are just as revealing. Footy fans with an abiding concern for the game—not only the results of matches, but of the moral health of the organisations who control them—often lament the intrusion of commercial forces on our native football code, a game for so long enmeshed in the lives of ordinary Australians.
Yet just as he has been so many other times down the years, Barassi is right: it is and always will be a heart and soul game. Playing the role of itinerant preacher, Matt Zurbo has deftly preserved the football stories of those who cherish footy every bit as much as he does.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Matt Zurbo is a forest worker and writer who has played over 650 games of footy, in mountains, coasts and cities across three states of Australia. He spent three years tracking down and sharing stories with the legends and characters of the game who comprise Heart & Soul.
