The #FOMA Runway themes for Motherland will feature a collection of 90 garments including Casual, Head Wrap/Head Pieces and Evening/Formal Wear, demonstrating a fusion of African and western fashion. The runway show will take place at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm on the main stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Liverpool will celebrate its colourful reputation as the most diverse city in Australia by staging three new events next year including a Motherland African Cultural Festival. The new celebrations join Liverpool’s already established festivals like the “Light Up The Sky,” fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, “Winter Blast” with ice skating in a European winter setting and the India-inspired Starry Sari night. Liverpool mayor Ned Mannoun thanked the State Government for a grant of $800,000 over two years to help fund the festivals. “They add to the glamour and diversity of modern-day Liverpool,” he said. ‘The grant confirms that Liverpool has become a destination of choice for thousands of Sydneysiders coming here to enjoy the fun and colour of spectacular celebrations. “Everyone has been experiencing tough times of late and these festivals are a chance to unwind and forget about other problems they might have for a while. “The festivals are also a chance to see Liverpool through different eyes. “Our food and shopping, our diverse cultures, our parklands and arts and entertainment centre at Casula Powerhouse adjacent to the beautiful Georges River, are already an attraction. “Now the festivals are drawing crowds in their own right.” Motherland will feature an African experience with drumming, dancing as well as fashion and artisan stalls. Mr Mannoun said his council will continue the momentum of establishing festivals. “We have big plans for the 2023 and we’re grateful to the NSW Government for the funding to help keep these wonderful experiences happening because the people of Liverpool deserve it,” he said The State Government is investing $8 million into 21 major cultural festivals and events run by councils across Sydney, Newcastle, and the Illawarra All thanks to our friends at Liverpool City Council Australia, Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is covering the event (media: Hakam Soufan and Neil Chand) please stay tuned for more information special thanks: Aya Kartambis, Kellie Hughes, Sonia Gandhi, Rachel O'Hagan and Ranjita Sharma The Really Useful Group together with Tim Lawson and AB Publicity in association with Michael Harrison Entertainment presents The London Palladium Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat DATES: opens 11 February 2023, Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm; Sat at 2pm; Sun 1pm & 6.30pm VENUE: The Capitol Theatre Sydney, 13 Campbell St, Haymarket WEBSITE: https://josephthemusical.com.au/ TICKETS: https://josephthemusical.com.au/tickets/sydney/ “Absolutely jubilant” Time Out “A musical theatre spectacular The Age “A joyous night out” The Guardian Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s dazzling new production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat arrives in Sydney in just three weeks!
