Catalyst PR present a new release of Dean Ray – STRIPPED BACK '4TRAK Sessions Volume One' please read a review Jeanette Russell kindly shares with all our readers: Dean Ray has released his 3rd album called 4TRAK. He is a very talented singer songwriter and plays the acoustic guitar accompanying, heartfelt, meaningful and moving songs. Ray was born in Queensland, and living on rural properties as a child he has described himself as playing in the open country, and being very imaginative. From there, Dean explored his love of instruments and music when he was quite young, starting off playing the drums and then embarking on guitar lessons at 13. Ray was runner up in the 2014 X Factor Oz. After which he has toured internationally as well as frequently in Australia. Inspired by his parents' collections of records and tapes, he had the idea of the 4trak sessions, emulating the simple 4 track tape recorders of the 80s. About this new work, Dean has stated that “I got caught up in what other people wanted from me and what may have worked on radio, that I forgot about the soul of music.
