it is my second experience at the place and it seemed really good last time (end of last year for X-mas) I was there with a friend
Entertainment Book special: gives you 50% off your bill.
We ordered fish (barramundi) veggie and salad
fisherman plate w/ salad and chiips
desert with assorted sweets and coffees
the meal would be ok if not for
- not a very pleasant taste of some items on the fisherman plate
- plastic I found on my friend's plate on a piece of pumpkin that was not removed during cooking. usually i am not a big eater of the plastic - just letting the managers know what their kitchen has
- the rest of the food was ok but not cooked with love at all
usually with such a poor reviews I would not recommend the book to buy but I will still do it: https://www.entertainmentbook.com.au/ no matter ow sad it made us as we invited a friend for special treat / dinner just to get disappointed - thank god the company was funny....
Entertainment Book special: Rolld Frankston
it is such a nice treat at the winter cold day: warm and yummy chicken pho and rice and duck rolls. the treat is very feeling and quite big - the Entertainment Book gives you 50% off your special dinner plus half price drinks
rate it? ok I will
atmosphere: shopping centre but quiet corner makes it very comfortable esp at the end of the business day so 3/5

for the late lunch at The Deck Brighton
easy to say than to write about something, right?
I really favoured this place when I first visited t with Ned Vorkapic and ordered the same dish: Vietnamese salmon salad. I remember it was greatly decorated and tasted amazing: it was crispy, oriental and spicy the taste was balanced and the salad was made with so much love
I order the same dish there year after year but no idea why the salad keeps changing without getting better for some reason. I might change it next year but that will be my lats try if it does not work
this time the salad was very watery, no Asian flour noticed, the fish was boiled and tasted - hm... a bit strange to me, the green parts f the salad were ruined as you can not out the hot/warm fish on the top of the greens without damaging the flavor - it HAS to be cold. the warmness of the salmon did not enhance the flavor, on the contrary, the salad was made loveless . what I loved was a violet mayo that gave the salad a colored lift otherwise it would simply be a home made quick hand salad prepared from the last night leftovers.
we were really hungry as we did not eat anything till almost 0200pm but it would be actually much better without something that tasted that bad.
the coffees were very poor in flavour. I was told the cafe uses Dimattina Coffeebeans - I love this coffee brand but again - the coffees were not good.

I was glad we were heading off to Oakleigh for some much better dinner options with friends later this day
· We have been kindly invited by the marketing manager Hashi of the Natalies Restaurant in Mitcham, Victoria where lunch turned out to be a superb surprise .
Porterhouse was tender and wonderfully complimented with masterfully cooked potatoes and lovely light salad . We also have been treated with house made dinner rolls and butter . The drinks were great ; tapped pale ale and apple cider as well as freshly brewed coffees . It’s worth adding that atmosphere was very warm . We enjoyed classical music concert . The stuff and the manger herself were very attentive and extremely polite .
We want to express our gratitude to Natalie’s restaurant and Quality Hotel Manor for their immense hospitality
the Fortnums Restaurant and Reception Venue Sassafras, Victoria, Australia offers us the antipasto plate da coffees (da - is not a mistake!). Their cheeses are divine.

DATE: Sunday, 14 January 2018
LOCATION: Werribee Park, Melbourne
Wine. Dine. Dance in the Sunshine! SFSC is a summer festival of pleasures. It’s a party, a picnic, a celebration of life and culture, the Frenchy way. Lose yourself and find your joie de vivre. See you there, mes amis!
Australians are already getting to ready to wine, dine and dance again when So Frenchy So Chic returns for another summer festival of pleasures. In 2018, the beloved garden party, grand picnic and celebration of joie de vivre spreads the love to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, with even more music, food and frivolity – the Frenchy way.
While @Féfé, General Elektriks, Juniore, L.E.J and Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains * take the main stage, there’s a lot more to enjoy on the day… www.sofrenchysochic.com.au
A range of French restaurant pop-ups unique to each city will keep everyone satisfied with mouth-watering authentic menus designed just for this special day.
In Melbourne, the popular Hell of the North will bring a broad range of dishes and an eclectic selection of European wines, while the award-winning Hotel Gitan will serve up a selection of contemporary French bistro favourites.
For those in need of a tipple as the sun sets, in Adelaide La Buvette Drinkery will be offering the ritual of the aperitif, or pre-dinner drinks, alongside delectable French fare from revered restaurant Cliché.
For Sydneysiders, longtime favourite Bistro Rex will be dishing up their selection of fine dining favourites, while the always tasty Le Village brings a classic French bistro vibe to the festival’s culinary repertoire.
And what garden party would be complete without Champagne? The finest from Laurent Perrier will be chilled and flowing all day, as will French beer, and artisan wines including rosé from Provence, reds and whites from Bordeaux, plus specialty cocktails at the Cointreau Cocktail Bar.
Effortless makeup is synonymous with French style. This year, the Lancôme Lip Bar will be in residence, to help guests to get the French-girl look, emulated worldwide for its natural aesthetic and seductive simplicity.
Festival guests can head to the Lancôme marquee for a free consultation with the skilled national makeup team who will tailor a French-inspired lip to all attendees. The Lancôme Lip Bar will also be offering complimentary Parisian Glow skin treatments, complimenting a statement lip with luminous, glowing skin.
After French makeovers, guests can head over to the Kerastase Braid Bar to finish their look. From boho-luxe to a classic French braid, the complimentary braid bar will add an extra dose of chic to the day. Apart from being a French style staple, the braid is an ideal festival-do, perfect for dancing in the sunshine, adorned with a flower-crown (also available at SFSC) and a fruity summer cocktail in hand.
So Frenchy has always been a family friendly event, with kids 12 and under welcome free of charge. If the tunes aren’t to the taste of little ones, Les Enfants Zone is always full of life. With croquet, life-sized chess, hopscotch, face painting, drumming classes, balloon and bubble making, the young at heart have an endless array of entertainment available throughout the festival.
LA JOIE DE VIVRE
In the past decade, So Frenchy So Chic has grown into one of summer's most hotly anticipated boutique festivals. Created and curated by lovers of French culture for those who share that passion.
There are still some tickets remaining – returning fans and newbies alike will not want to miss out. With so much to taste, imbibe and experience on the sidelines, this promises to be the Frenchiest So Frenchy yet.

at 0700pm and...
oki, we are getting ready for today:
~ cleaning of course
~ fruit basket is here so almost done...
~ cheeses from the Blue Bay Cheese / Blue Bay Deli Frankston is here and they look delicious -
...and my breakfast is fast and a bit alco:
I am trying a new product APPS Apple Cider - Australia. It is a delicious European apple cider, which is crafted utilising the finest ingredients, traditional recipes and natural brewing fermentation process. I was told by the company owner, Dmytro Legeyda that the drink is made out of the freshest and fines apples, is not manufactured from the concentrate. It is brewed with love and care of course. I had a long 2 hour talk with the owner and his knowledge in the product is amazing. he treats the drink as his own baby , with love , which is so fantastic to see. Dmyttro's eyes sparkle when he talks about the drink.
Cider is my favorite drink to be honest: I tried many brands before. I have to admit that the taste of APPS is so sweet (but surprisingly no sugar is added!) and dry at the same time which is so amazing. It is a unique combination of flavours too which I can not describe but it takes me back to the place where my mum was born in Ukraine. It has 6.5% of alcohol and I feel drunk after a couple of sips (well, I am not that good at it I should admit). It goes well with small cheese snacks and nuts like (any) beer but I love that it does not have the beer bitterness.
APPS can be ordered directly from the owner (it is currently sold in Perth but being introduced to Melbourne and Victorian regions as well) . Please email Dmytro on firstname.lastname@example.org - the price is a giveaway if you buy direct from the factory now - just for Christmas ( please double check it for me ).
it is not bad at at DanMurphy too I see: $59 for 24 https://www.danmurphys.com.au/…/apps-premium-european-apple…

DATE: Sunday 14 January 2018

OTHER LOCATIONS: Friday 12.01 — PINKY FLAT, Adelaide In partnership with Adelaide Festival Centre’s French Festival
Saturday 20.01 — BICENTENNIAL PARK Glebe, Sydney
MORE FUN. MORE FRENCHY.
GET READY TO WINE, DINE AND DANCE AGAIN WHEN SO FRENCHY SO CHIC RETURNS FOR ANOTHER SUMMER FESTIVAL OF PLEASURES.
IN 2018 THE BELOVED PARTY, PICNIC AND CELEBRATION OF JOIE DE VIVRE SPREADS THE LOVE TO ADELAIDE ALONGSIDE MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY,
WITH EVEN MORE MUSIC, FOOD AND FRIVOLITY – THE FRENCHY WAY OF COURSE.
A long time SFSC favourite, the Nigerian-born, French rapper FÉFÉ will take the stage with a brand new repertoire of chic Afro-influenced beats. Performing tracks from his 2017 album Mauve, Féfé will leave have audiences moving with his rhythmic repertoire and signature style, joy and je ne sais quoi.
Lovers of San Francisco’s Quannaum crew (Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, DJ Shadow and more) may already be familiar with the French-born Hervé Salters, aka GENERAL ELEKTRIKS. Boasting collaborations with Blackalicious, Femi Kuti and Mayer Hawthorne to name a few, we are very excited to bring his soulful, vintage funk-meets-jazz groove to Australia this summer.
Fronted by the enigmatic and poetic Fránçois Marry, the eclectic sound of FRÀNÇOIS & THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS offers a menagerie of influences from Afro-pop to French chanson, along with electronic guitar pop and a dream-like flair. While their sound may be hard to define, as those who caught their euphoric set at So Frenchy in 2015 know, they are a perfect fit for a summer’s day of dancing barefoot on the grass. (Performing at Melbourne and Sydney only.)
Both seductive and sweet, retro and modern, the très avant-garde JUNIORE is our super-stylish and Saint Laurent-approved addition to the So Frenchy lineup. Self-described as ‘désespérément optimistes’ (desperate optimists) we’d rather describe them as the lost connection between fashion, surf, psychedelic pop, spaghetti westerns and the nouvelle vague film movement. Big sound, big fun.
Pronounced ‘Elijay’, the three piece L.E.J has carved out a cult following with mesmerizing covers and originals, using three distinctive sounds: vocal harmonies, percussion and cello. Having broken through reinterpreting hits like Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ to ‘Panda’ by Desiigner with more than 150 million plays on Youtube, they’re now about to win Australian crowds with their own amazing compositions from their debut album.
Featuring the crème de la crème of the local French foodie scene, festival goers can look forward to wine, aperitifs and specialty bites such as mussels, oysters, crêpes, charcuterie, cheese platters, raclette, macaroons, ice cream and much more. For those who like to plan their picnic ahead of time, there are specially curated hampers to pre-order with tasty inclusions from roasted chicken or ratatouille baguettes to goose egg meringues and berry salad with cream fraiche, along with equally délicieux vegetarian and gluten free options. And what garden party would be complete without Champagne? The finest from Laurent Perrier will be chilled and flowing all day, as will French beer, rosé from Provence, reds and whites from Bordeaux, and special cocktails at the SFSC vintage caravan.
So Frenchy has always been a family friendly event, with kids 12 and under welcome free of charge. If the tunes aren’t to the taste of your enfants at the Melbourne and Sydney events, there will be face painting, incredible bubble artists, drumming classes and lawn games like pétanque and croquet to keep them entertained.
LA JOIE DE VIVRE
In the past decade, So Frenchy So Chic has grown from a small series of concerts into one of summer’s most hotly anticipated boutique festivals. Styled in the theme of a fairy-tale estate in Provence, it’s always the next best thing to jetting off to Europe with superb food, wine, music and dancing in beautiful company.
We look forward to catching up this summer over a glass of rosé. See you there, mes amis!

when it comes to joining my friends for a cup of coffee or for a business meeting my first choice is always Abacus Bar & Kitchen. Discovered and showed to me one day by my friends, it changed my life and became my favorite place in the area for its distinctive character, delicious food, excellent service and unusual decoration. Adoration soon turned into an obsession and i started talking with waiters and waitresses and lately with the chef and the owner... my casual question: "would you like to..?" turned into quick "yes" from his side and we set up a review crew.
