Australian singer/songwriter Rick Price heads out on the ‘Soulville’ Tour from May 6th ’22 to perform all the tracks from his album “Soulville” along with those classic hits, we all know and love. Rick’s rich heritage set against a country Queensland backdrop led to the
international heady heights of success back in the ‘90’s with hit singles and album ‘Not A Day Goes By’, ‘Walk Away Renee’ and, ‘Heaven Knows’, for which he also received the APRA Song Of The Year Award. Rick was also recognised for his efforts overseas being awarded the Export Music’s ‘Outstanding Achievements Abroad’ and recently APRA’s ‘Overseas Recognition’ Award for his work as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer.
“Soulville” is Rick’s 10th studio album and was released through Sony Music Entertainment in August 2021. His soulful renditions on this twelve-track album are a ‘tip of the hat’ to his heroes and influences in music. These classics come from the 1960’s, Crème de la crème soul legends and include Eddie Floyd’s ‘Knock On Wood’, ‘Walk On By’ by the iconic Dionee Warwick, the immortal Aretha Franklin’s ‘Chain Of Fools’ and ‘Soulville’, Martha and the Vandellas ‘Dancing In The Streets’ and a stirring version of the time-honoured
Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change is Gonna Come’. The one original track on
“Soulville” is ‘Farewell But Not Goodbye’, is a tribute to the “Queen of Soul”, herself the late great Aretha Franklin, written by Price and fellow Aussie hit maker John Capek. “I can’t wait to play this album live!! I’ll be performing tracks from “Soulville”, a collection of songs from the 1960’s Soul Era. ‘In The Midnight Hour’, ‘Stand By Me’, ‘Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay’, ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’... just to name a few. Some shows will be with a full Band and some will be solo electric. See you soon!” – Rick Price
“The voice of this soulful Australian has the power to silence rooms and move hearts, as he belts out notes created by the God's themselves. Each word is delivered with such reassurance and understanding, while each note and chord goes out of it's way to invoke emotions within you”. - Mark Spencer

Be Like Water

A new single from album 'THIS IS A RECORDING' "Be Like Water" by Greg Nunan & The General Jacksons was released on FRIDAY, March 25 https://www.gregnunan.com/
Please follow Jeanette Russell's review:
Be Like Water is a catchy song with rhythm, soul. Some masterful guitar playing is involved.
This is Greg Nunan's second single from their new album called' This is a recording".
The blues rock song has great vocals from Greg , he plays guitar as well as song writing, a very gifted man by all accounts. Also strumming on guitar is Felix Akurangi, Mark Holbert is on Bass and Liam Chandler is playing the drums. Their first album was called "Kites For Hurricanes". The guys have toured Oz, and also overseas.
The song's message seems to me to be, be adaptable like Water, and how it fits the shape of its vessel. As Bruce Lee had said many times in the past, in interviews, and a documentary, " Be Water"
The band has launched their new single "Be Like Water" at Northern Beaches, NSW, at Bucketty's Brewing Company where a new craft beer was created with the same name and released at the same time as the single. Below are the official release details also in Northern Beaches . Well worth catching the tune please look out for "Be like Water" by Greg Nunan and the General Jackson's band. Nunan is a very talented man and the band members are skillful players. Please have a listen to their latest song.

From the phenomenon of the Buena Vista Social Club comes Eric Turro Martinez, the king of Cuban dance. A living legend of the Cuban international dance scene, Eric has brought Cuba’s traditional dances to world-renowned stage shows; The Bar at Buena Vista, Havana Rumba and Hemmingway’s Havana, touring with the biggest icons of Cuban music worldwide since 2004.
It was on the poor streets of the old Havana that the story of one of the greatest dancers of our era can be found. This is the story of Eric’s journey from a busking dancer on the streets of Havana to the prestigious Hotel National with the Buena Vista Social Club in Cuba. A story of humble beginnings to a meteoric rise to international star and a worldwide dance reference recognised by UNESCO.

Jade Holland's new single release "Summertime, Sunshine and You"

24/3/2022

FRIDAY, February 18 marked Jade Holland's new single release "Summertime, Sunshine and You" https://jadeholland.com/
please follow Jeanette Russell's review:
Jade Holland has released a new single "Summertime Sunshine and You." It has been internationally released. Last year Jade had a single "Fight For It." which was in quite a different vein.
During the first few months of lockdown Holland wrote the song, and has been waiting to release it. She stated it was from "Nashville to Brisbane to Hervey Bay" via zoom that she completed it. .Jade wanted to portray the lovely lifestyle she lives in , being the sunny state of Queensland. She is very grateful for this and proclaims " it's like falling in love every day".
Jade wanted to fashion, a different kind of work this time as she felt " After so many songs about heartbreak, I wanted to feel the sweetness of love in a song". The tune has a country / pop vibe and feel. The songstress wanted to manufacture this track to encompass feeling good, and encouraging listeners to visit beaches in all seasons.
Sung in a beautiful and authentic way, "Summertime Sunshine and You'' , is a swinging toe tapping tune, to dance and move too.
Later in the year Holland will release a new album. Her debut this year had been a great effort, to lighten the mood and keep listeners engaged with the music and her lovely voice in harmony with the band.
A great performance, I highly recommend it. Please listen to "Summertime Sunshine and You", and await the album in the later half of the year.
I am most impressed by this talented and creative ladies' art.
Thank you for the chance to review it.

FRIDAY, February 18 marks Jade Holland's official release of her new single called "Summertime, Sunshine and You" https://jadeholland.com/
Regional Queensland based singer and songwriter, Jade Holland, makes a welcome return in 2022 with her brand-new single ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You” due for international release on 18 February 2022. Following on from the number one Australian Country Radio success of “Fight for it”, the official anthem for the 2021 Walk for Awareness, “Summertime” sees a return to Holland’s country pop roots and is the catchy feel-good song of 2022 that keeps us longing for the beach all year round.
“Living in Queensland, the climate and lifestyle are just so unique and beautiful, it’s like falling in love every day. After so many songs about heart break, I wanted to feel the sweetness of love in a
song that puts me right back into summer mode regardless of what time of year it is.” Holland shares. With her next album due for release in November 2022, “Summertime” builds the bridge for this
country girl’s catalogue of songs from heart break right through to love and marks the beginning of a new chapter in her journey in music. “Being unable to travel and tour has led me to a deeper
understanding of myself as an artist. The stories that I share about love and life in a small Aussie country town reflect a sentiment that so many people relate to.” Holland adds that ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You’ is the perfect taste of what’s to come from her - musically and as a female artist.
Thanks to the worldwide COVID lockdowns, ‘Summertime, Sunshine and You” became a quarantine project managed across time zones. Co-written by Jade with David Mescon and Bruce Wallace in Nashville in April 2020, it was recorded in Australia and Nashville and produced by David “Messy” Mescon at Messy Room Studios in Nashville and Athenian producer, George Ahas Lignos, in Parafonik Studios in Brisbane. Official video: https://youtu.be/eBI-XkixqaY
The PINK VINES Tour
Three sassy country chicks! Princess of Country Pop Jade Holland joins forces with the Australian Alt Country Diva, Laura Frank, and talented teenager Tyla Rodrigues. Dolly Parton said, “The way
I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” The girls tell their stories about what life is like for a girl touring the country playing music including all the moments when it rains. Pink Vines will feature one set for each artist plus a very special encore finale featuring all three on stage together.

9 to 5 the Musical Australia premiere opened its doors on WEDNESDAY, February 16 and will run till SUNDAY, April 17 at the Capitol Theatre Sydney and is presented to you by IP Publicity and Dolly Parton personally https://9to5themusical.com.au/
The countdown is on to the much anticipated Australian premiere of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL, Dolly Parton’s smash-hit West End musical, which will open in February at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney,
followed by seasons at the QPAC ~ Lyric Theatre Brisbane from May and the Arts Centre Melbourne, State Theatre from July. Internationally acclaimed and loved by audiences and critics alike, 9 TO 5 is pure gold carat fun! The producers have assembled a top line cast to inhabit these iconic and much loved roles. Marina
Prior will play Violet Newstead, a smart, sassy and efficient woman who has worked all her life at Consolidated Industries. She has all it takes to run the company but there is one small issue ... her
boss! Marina gained prominence as Cosette in the Australian premiere of Les Misérables and Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera, and has grown to become one of Australia’s most
accomplished leading ladies, playing lead roles in The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, The Secret Garden and countless other productions. Casey Donovan will be Judy Bernly, a newly separated, never worked before young woman who finds more than just a job at Consolidated Industries. Casey shot to stardom after winning Australian Idol as a 16 year old in 2004, and has since become an audience favourite in concert and in musical theatre. Most recently she played Matron Mama Morton in the smash hit musical Chicago, and has performed in The Flower Children, The Sapphires, Rent and We Will Rock You. Erin Clare will play Doralee Rhodes, a ‘don’t mess with me’ well-brought-up, bright and beautiful country gal. She may look like a push over but is anything but! Following her first starring role as Scaramouche in The Gordon Frost Organisation’s national tour of We Will Rock You, she has featured in Heathers the Musical, American Psycho, High Fidelity, American Idiot and Merrily We Roll Along. Caroline O’Connor plays busy-body Roz Keith, the administration assistant who is fiercely - and unrequitedly - in love with her boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Most recently seen in Melbourne Theatre Company’s Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Caroline has played lead roles on Broadway, in the West End, France and across Australia, including Chicago, Anything Goes, West Side Story, On The Town, Man of La Mancha, Bombshells, A Christmas Story and Anastasia to name just a few. Caroline also created the role of tango dancing Nini Legs in the Air in Baz Luhrmann’s Academy Award winning film Moulin Rouge. Eddie Perfect will play the controlling boss Franklin Hart Jnr. One of Australia's most respected and
prolific writers and performers, Eddie is perhaps best known as all-round nice guy Mick Holland on Channel 10’s hit series Offspring, and has been seen in Kath and Kim, Spicks And Specks and
numerous comedy shows including ABC TV’s Stand Up, The elbourne Comedy Festival Gala and Good News Week. On stage Eddie performed in Keating! The Musical, Misanthropology, The
Threepenny Opera and Shane Warne The Musical, which he wrote himself. In 2019, Eddie wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway premiere of Beetlejuice, for which he was nominated for Best
Original Score at the 2019 Tony Awards.
Completing the cast are Lily Baulderstone, Ana Maria Belo, Zoe Coppinger, Mia Dabkowski-Chandler, Ben Gillespie, Emma Hawthorne, James Haxby, Emma Johns, Jay Johns, Ethan Jones,
Antonia Marr, Josh Mulheran, Tom New, Jake O’Brien, Matthew Prime, Jackson Reedman, Jordan Tomljenovic and Jessica Vellucci.
“I am so excited that Marina, Casey and Erin will be playing Violet, Judy and Doralee alongside Caroline and Eddie in the Australian cast of 9 TO 5,” said Dolly Parton. “The response to 9 TO 5 from
around the world has been incredible so far. I can't wait for everyone down under to have a fun (and funny!) night out at 9 TO 5.” Producers John Frost for Crossroads Live Australia, Suzanne Jones and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions said, “We’re thrilled with our glorious cast, led by Marina, Casey, Erin, Caroline and Eddie. Now 9 TO 5 is back in business with a full cast, theatres booked and audiences clamouring to buy tickets. So put on your Saturday best and join us for the most fun you’ll have all year at 9 TO 5.” A sensation on the West End and inspired by the hit film, the musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three enterprising workmates pushed to the edge by their mean-spirited boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Resorting to wit, comradery and cunning, they dream up a no holds barred scheme to kidnap and turn the tables on their controlling supervisor in the most hilariously defiant of ways. The only question is, will the feisty trio manage to change the office culture to reach their full potential - or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit? With a sparkling score by Dolly Parton and a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, 9 TO 5 is the quintessential feel-good show for the times. Full of mischief, laughter and affection, it’s gold carat fun!
Set the alarm for a great night out at Dolly Parton’s joyous smash-hit musical 9 TO 5, featuring knock-out songs and high-flying ambitions.

Set in Venice, and a balmy isle in the Mediterranean, this is the quintessential light opera of mixed up babies at birth, set to “the happiest music ever written by an Englishman”. Cachucha, fandango, bolero, Sullivan was truly inspired to write such delicious Italian and Spanish melodies. Gilbert’s satire of Republicanism is still as fresh today as ever. “When everyone is somebody then no one’s anybody”. Marco and Giuseppe have just married their sweethearts, Gianetta and Tessa, who they won in a game of blind-man’s-buff On their wedding night however, the Grand Inquisitor informs them that one of them is the rightful King of Barataria. Furthermore, he, whoever he is, was married in infancy to Casilda – the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Plaza-Toro – who have just arrived in Venice to claim their daughter’s husband.

Realise Legalise

2/12/2021

#RealiseLegalise new single by Gary 'Angry' Anderson - Official release took place on November 19 https://apple.co/3HdrgVw http://www.angryanderson.com/
Jeanette Russell reviews the debut single for our readers:
Angry has described his new single with the Angry Anderson Band and Realise Legalise single as "Funky". He has wanted to work with his own band for years and form a band around R and B. He says he has a sentiment for American soul music. The blues soul gospel interests him. He wanted the band to be "far removed from Rose Tattoo." At the same time Anderson is happy to keep Rose Tattoo alive.
The song is a different genre than what we are used to with Anderson ( Gary ) The tempo is slower but showcases his voice , and thoughtful lyrics. Gary has many talents and leaning a different way seems to suit him, sound, rhythm, and creativity wise. Like a chameleon, he is no stranger to change, and sends a clear message using his voice to advocate for change in this field. It's an enlightening and entertaining experience. Very much worth hearing, I believe, with this legend of rock, now pursuing new areas, at the helm. I found it displays his somewhat gruff sound, nicely. The band does a stellar job musically, and with the instrumental lineup, as well as sending a powerful communication on this still somewhat controversial matter.
He wants to legitimise the use of Cannabis for medicinal purposes. Personally knowing of people who can gain support and assistance for themselves or loved ones through its use. Angry ( Gary ) has researched reading ect about medical interventions and how Cannabis has made a real difference for users, in many cases. Anderson talks about sustainability and other applications of the plant. He first sparked his own interest in the 70s and started writing and pondering on the product back then.
Angry has lived a life full of highlights and different vocations, family, and adventures. His latest debut single is with this newly formed Angry Anderson band.
Gary Anderson has lived in the limelight, and is a rock champion On the flip side of fame, he has done odd jobs such as cleaning, and renovations to make ends meet and been a single dad, in the past. .. He really loves his children. Sadly Angry lost his youngest son Liam, in recent years. Altogether he had 3 sons and one daughter.
In an interview in the 2000s Angry discloses that he has experienced family violence and says his childhood was painful. Fear, anger and unpredictability haunted him. He says he was left to deal with "adult inadequacy" which made him so frustrated, and he felt he was going insane. Angry used cannabis in the early days to help him calm down, and as a resource to escape. Now he believes in many ways legalisation can assist others.
He states, at the time, "he was close to the edge but is still here". Thankfully. Also expressed was his love for his mother who was "always there" . Mum explained that "Gary" (Angry ) was not always angry, there was a gentler side to him.
Angry surmised that he worried about being a potential father. Despite that, it seems his passion for his family has shown up and he has been a great inspirational parent and role model, who his now grown up children, by all appearances, really look up to.
Please take the time to listen to his new song, and it's introspective news. Thank you for the opportunity to listen and to review it. I recommend giving an ear to Realise Legalise, by The Angry Anderson Band.

NEW SINGLE IS RELEASED!
Australian Country Star, Jade Holland, shared her new story with a freshly released single, ‘Fight For It” (8 October), which is poised to become an anthem for a world struggling to recover from covid fatigue. "Fight For It is for every single person who has lost someone to suicide. It’s a song that we all can relate to. We’ve all been there. This is our time to stand together and sing for those who are no longer here." Holland shared. "This is our anthem now." (co-written by Jade with Sinead Burgess and Bryce Sainty,
produced by David Messy Mescon at Messy Room Studios in Nashville with #AriaAward winning artist, Tyrone Noonan, appearing on the backing vocals with the chorus vocals recorded in the #Pushworth office with the whole team jumping in to help out,
released through The Manick Label /In Grooves/ Universal Music Group)
our journalist, Jeanette Russell reviews the song today for all our readers:
Thank you for the opportunity to review" Fight for it " by Jade Holland. Very apt for mental health week. It's a song of struggle with one's self. It declares there is hope. Messages of fighting for it, and that it's OK to ask for help are presented. Also highlighted are themes, see that there is hope . You'll get through it, and that we are strong, and not on our own. She showcases resilience, as well as vulnerability and a great strength of character.
Lovely music backing and Jade's vocals are excellent. I feel Jade has a real talent and gift , and seems that she really wants to support people. Highly recommended. Please listen to Fight For It. The song is getting out the word about mental health and suicidal issues which is very poignant at this time.
Jade is a country singer who is an ambassador for the mental health Foundation. She will debut her single on 8 October "Fight for it" and will film a video, in Brisbane at the "Annual walk for awareness" there..
It's an amazing experience to listen to, capturing my attention, and the story behind it is inspiring.
Jade has a beautiful voice, and has a great ability, I believe. She has co- written the song with Sinead Burgess and Bryce Sainty. An expose about mental health challenges such as losing someone, Jade has ascertained that "Fight For It is for every single person who has lost someone to suicide. It’s a song that we all can relate to. We’ve all been there. This is our time to stand together and sing for those who are no longer here."
Jade to me responds sensitively and with dedication to these issues.
Fans have stated that they got goose bumps listening to it and that they love the new single.
The song is so timely as an anthem for everyone at the moment facing the reality of Covid.
Jade has highlighted her own story, in the recent past, sharing "Drive Thru" a single that was internationally accredited and "That's the Wine " in 2019. Another song was" Lives on the Lawn," for the Townsville flood appeal." Do it Right" was a hit last year..

NEW RELEASE 8 OCTOBER 2021!
Australian Country Star, Jade Holland, has been consistently sharing her story with audiences across the globe over the past three years with singles like, the Multimillion streaming “Drive Thru”,
International Award winning “That’s The Wine”, the 2019 Charting Townsville Flood appeal charity song “Lives on the Lawn” and 2020’s breakout hit, “Do It Right”. Now her follow up single, ‘Fight For It”, due for International release on 8 October, is poised to become an anthem for a world struggling to recover from covid fatigue.
As Ambassador for Mental Awareness Foundation, Jade will make history on Sunday 10 October as she debuts ‘Fight For It” at the annual Walk For Awareness event in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in front of tens of thousands of Queenslanders. The official video will be filmed that day with a cast of thousands. "Fight For It is for every single person who has lost someone to suicide. It’s a song that we all can relate to. We’ve all been there. This is our time to stand together and sing for those who are no longer here." Holland shared. "This is our anthem now."
Being one of the first music artists to go on the road post lockdown, Jade took her Resilience Tour throughout regional Queensland in late 2020 in partnership with the Mental Awareness Foundation, and witnessed, firsthand, the power that music had to reconnect and heal a local community. It was these places and faces that inspired her to sit down late one night after a show in Mount Isa, Queensland, where she wrote the first three words, Fight For It. “Fight For It” was recorded and produced across time zones in a unique fashion thanks to border restrictions and lockdowns. Co-written by Jade with Sinead Burgess and Bryce Sainty, it was
produced by David Messy Mescon at Messy Room Studios in Nashville with #AriaAward winning artist, Tyrone Noonan, appearing on the backing vocals with the chorus vocals recorded in the #Pushworth office with the whole team jumping in to help out.
“Fight For It” will be released through The Manick Label/In Grooves/ Universal Music Group on Friday 8 October 2021.
