An epic, emotional and interconnected story about internationally renowned artist and activist Nan Goldin told through her slideshows, intimate interviews, ground-breaking photography, and rare footage of her personal fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the opioid crisis.
Directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras, the film interweaves Goldin’s past and present, the deeply personal and urgently political, from P.A.I.N.’s (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now) actions at renowned art institutions to Goldin’s photography of her friends and peers through her epic “The Ballad of Sexual Dependency” and her legendary 1989, NEA-censored AIDS exhibition, “Witness: Against Our Vanishing.” The story begins with P.A.I.N., a group Goldin founded to shame museums into rejecting Sackler money, destigmatize addiction and promote harm reduction. Inspired by Act Up, they orchestrated protests to call attention to the toxic philanthropy of the Sackler family, whose company, Purdue Pharma, ignited the opioid epidemic with its blockbuster drug, OxyContin.
At the core of the film are Goldin’s artworks “The Ballad of Sexual Dependency”; “The Other Side”; “Sisters, Saints and Sibyls”; and “Memory Lost.” In these works, Goldin captures her friendships with beauty and raw tenderness. These friendships, and the legacy of her sister Barbara, anchor all of Goldin’s art.

The highschool journey has finally come to an end. Graduating was definitely one of the best feelings to look for in high school and without a doubt mine was definitely a blast. I will forever be grateful for all the memories I’ve made along the way and I am so happy that I was able to end it off with my final highschool formal. I was very sceptic about having a photo shoot but after seeing the photos I’m so glad I made this decision. It was such a fun experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone, the photos are amazing and I will definitely use them further into my life. The whole photoshoot experience was very fun and it was something out of my comfort zone but I am willing to do it again. This was a beautiful way to end off my schooling experience and create memories I’ll be able to cherish forever.

All the outfits, festive decorations, food and drinks will be provided so bring in your enthusiasm, good vibes and positive energy!
This is a TFP project, all models have to arrive sharp on time (no lifts will be provided).

"So it’s been so nice to be out of lockdown finally with everything reopening and being allowed to shoot again. I recently had the opportunity to do an impromptu shoot with the wonderful Peter at Tall Dark & Art Studios. We had a few rough concepts in mind to play with, with the idea of fabric. As I was wrapping the fabric around me on set, I said “Fabric is Primordial Fashion, it can become anything” as a joke. That comment led to the theme and vibe of this set. This just proves to me that Creativity is The King. Sometimes we can have everything planned out to a tee, other times we can just allow it to flow and come up with something even better than either or us had envisioned.
