ATTENTION TO ALL CREATIVE MINDS:
photographers, designers, writers, models, artists, stylists, MUAHs, artistic directors and others alike:
there is the challenge described:
RINGLORN
"n. the wish that the modern world felt as epic as the one depicted in old stories and folktales—a place of tragedy and transcendence, of oaths and omens and fates, where everyday life felt like a quest for glory, a mythic bond with an ancient past, or a battle for survival against a clear enemy, rather than an open-ended parlor game where all the rules are made up and the points don’t matter."
The word comes from...
The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, coined in 2012 by John Koenig. It was a project, to create a compendium of invented words for every emotion we might all experience but don’t yet have a word for. They are beautifully obscure words describing complex emotions you may know. As humans, we experience a vast and intricate emotional array of feelings.
ANNOUNCING COMPETITION
on the best concept / style photograph or set of photographs that will fit into the category "RINGLORN" with the focus on omens and fates, signs and destinies.
We publish the best photos in the coming winter issue of MARQUIS FASHION MAGAZINE
The due date for submission is 01 September 2021 1200pm
The works of art should be sent in the form of a direct dropbox link or direct wetransfer link with the full list of credits and your story of inspiration to accompany it
to natasha.marchev@gmail.com or in PM.
Your photos should be a highly acclaimed art in fashion - each image should be like a part of a collective story for the magazine pages therefore making it more readable for everyone who opens it.

ELLIPSISM
"sadness that you’ll never be able to know how history will turn out, that you’ll dutifully pass on the joke of being alive without ever learning the punchline—the name of the beneficiary of all human struggle, the sum of the final payout of every investment ever made in the future—which may not suit your sense of humor anyway and will probably involve how many people it takes to change a lightbulb.." with the focus on inevitable moda.

there is the challenge described:
ENOUEMENT
n. the bittersweetness of having arrived here in the future, where you can finally get the answers to how things turn out in the real world—who your baby sister would become, what your friends would end up doing, where your choices would lead you, exactly when you’d lose the people you took for granted—which is priceless intel that you instinctively want to share with anybody who hadn’t already made the journey, as if there was some part of you who had volunteered to stay behind, who was still stationed at a forgotten outpost somewhere in the past, still eagerly awaiting news from the front.

"n. you’re drinking a cup of coffee at your local cafe, and looking out the window. Your thoughts drift aimlessly, but not unpleasantly. You find yourself growing conscious of the fact that in this present moment you are happy and contented. Goya: Drawings from the Prado Museum

GLAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT NGV IS RE-OPENING FROM FRIDAY 25 June 2021
National Gallery of Victoria invites you to visit:
Goya: Drawings from the Prado Museum
DATES: 25 Jun 21 – 3 Oct 21
LOCATION: NGV International Ground Level
W: https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/exhibition/goya/
The world-exclusive exhibition Goya: Drawings from the Prado Museum features more than 160 works on paper by Francisco Goya (1746–1828), celebrating the artist’s extraordinary imagination. Goya is considered to be one of the first truly modern artists. In humorous observations, confronting depictions of violence, and surreal flights of fantasy, he presents a vision of humanity that had no equivalent in the art of his day. Goya: Drawings from the Prado Museum features 44 drawings on loan from the Prado Museum in Madrid, the largest group of Goya’s drawings ever seen in Australia. Ranging from bold ink to delicate red chalk drawings, the works on display have been selected by the Prado especially for this NGV presentation. They include examples from the artist’s earliest albums of social satires through to the enigmatic visions and dreams recorded in his late drawings. This rich and diverse selection of drawings showcases the breadth of Goya’s drawing practice, as well as offering a rare insight into the artist’s image-making process.
The works from the Prado collection are complemented by 120 etchings from Goya’s renowned print series, including the Caprichos 1797–98, which satirised vices and follies in Spanish society; the Disasters of War 1810–15, based on the atrocities of the war and famine that followed the Napoleonic invasion of Spain in 1808; the Tauromaquia c. 1815–16 on the subject of bullfighting; and the enigmatic Disparates c. 1815–19, made during the reign of Ferdinand VII, whose suppression of civil liberties affected the lives of many intellectuals and reformers, including Goya and his friends. The prints are drawn from the NGV Collection with fifteen works on loan from the Art Gallery of South Australia.
All thanks to our friends at #NGV Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is proudly covering the media opening tour (media crew: Kathrine Kelly, Erkin Kalayci Independent Photographer and Tugba Talia Caglayan)

FRENCH IMPRESSIONISM: MELBOURNE WINTER MASTERPIECES 2021

GLAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT NGV IS RE-OPENING FROM FRIDAY 25 June 2021
National Gallery of Victoria invites you to visit:
FRENCH IMPRESSIONISM: MELBOURNE WINTER MASTERPIECES 2021 AND GOYA: DRAWINGS FROM THE PRADO MUSEUM
DATES: 25 Jun 21 – 3 Oct 21
LOCATION: NGV International Exhibition space Ground Level
W: https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/.../members-exclusive-access.../
MELBOURNE WINTER MASTERPIECES 2021
In an international exclusive, the NGV presents a major exhibition of more than 100 masterworks of French Impressionism in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), an institution renowned world-wide for its rich holdings of Impressionist paintings. Part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition series, French Impressionism features works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Mary Cassatt and more – including 79 works that have never-before-been exhibited in Australia. These important loans from the MFA’s collection provide a rare opportunity to see a significant grouping of Impressionist masterworks in Australia. French Impressionism charts the trajectory of the late-nineteenth century artistic movement, highlighting the key milestones and figures at the centre of this period of experimentation and revolution in modern art. Through an arresting display of paintings and works on paper that showcases the breadth of the movement, the exhibition evokes the artistic energy and intellectual dynamism of the period by placing emphasis on the thoughts and observations of the artists themselves, revealing the social connections, artistic influences and personal relationships that united the group of radical practitioners at the centre of this new art movement.
Presented thematically across ten sections, the exhibition opens with early works by Monet and his forebears, Eugène Boudin and painters of the Barbizon School, illustrating their profound influence on Monet’s use of the then radical method of painting outdoors en plein air (‘in the open air’) to capture changing conditions in nature. The growth of the movement in subsequent decades is mapped through an exploration of the favoured subjects and ideas of the Impressionists. Moving through an immersive exhibition design, audiences experience the hallmarks of Impressionism, including distinctive brushwork, unique points of view, arresting use of colour, as well as places dear to the artists, such as Paris, Fontainebleau Forest, Pontoise, Giverny, the Normandy coast and the South of France. Many artists also placed equal weight on recording movement and change in urban and domestic realms. Still life paintings, intimate interiors and street scenes by such artists as Manet, Renoir and Gustave Caillebotte also feature. These broader themes are punctuated by focused sections of the exhibition that examine significant moments and characteristics in the practices of a selection of artists, including Renoir and his experimentation with pictorial effects in the 1880s, as well as Pissarro and his role as mentor to a number of other artists.
An exhibition highlight is a breathtaking display of sixteen canvases by Claude Monet, in an immersive arrangement reminiscent of the distinctive, oval gallery designed for his famous Water Lilies at the Musée de l’Orangerie, Paris, between 1922 and his death in 1926. Painted over a thirty-year period, these paintings depict many of Monet’s most beloved scenes of nature in Argenteuil, the Normandy coast, the Mediterranean coast and his extraordinary garden in Giverny. Together, these paintings demonstrate the full scope of the artist’s immeasurable contribution to the Impressionist movement. MFA Boston’s significant collection of French Impressionism benefited from the collecting efforts of individual Bostonians, some of whom visited the artists in France during the movement’s height. Mary Cassatt, an American-born artist integral to the French Impressionist movement and whose work is featured in the exhibition, advocated among her fellow Americans for their patronage of her French colleagues, ensuring that many great Impressionist paintings found their way into important American collections.

CATOPTRIC TRISTESSE
noun.
"The sadness that you’ll never really know what other people think of you, whether good, bad or if at all—that although we reflect on each other with the sharpness of a mirror, the true picture of how we’re coming off somehow reaches us softened and distorted, as if each mirror was preoccupied with twisting around, desperately trying to look itself in the eye." focusing on the theme "on the other side of the mirror"
please have a taste of our TWO FRONT COVERS AND TWO MORE SECRET COVERS THAT DEFINED THIS ISSUE'S VERY SPECIAL FLAVOR
