Eyvon Koh of Curvaceous Gowns Singapore, Singapore

Curvaceous Gowns Singapore is Singapore’s first and only Plus Sized Gown Speciality Boutique. Fronted by owner Eyvon Koh, as she has a keen eye for making plus size ladies look stunning and radiant on their special day. The philosophy at Curvaceous Gowns Singapore is that one should all have equal chances of looking gorgeous on your special day no matter what size you are. Terry Yeo, a fashion designer of 20 years gown experience was introduced by a mutual friend to Evyon in 2017. In 2018, Eyvon and Terry collaborated and started designing and making customised gowns for brides. Terry also started designing mini capsule collections for Curvaceous Gowns Singapore. Over the years of partnership, they have come to learn that designing collaboratively means to make something that transcends the sum of its creators. A collaborative design process can be challenging at times—especially at the beginning. But getting out of their own heads and incorporating collaboration into their design process is worth the effort because it improves their work. Especially if they are collaborating not just with other designers, but with people who add different perspectives and lived experience that enriches their work. Eyvon Koh and Terry Yeo are esteem members and fashion ambassadors of the ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase representing Singapore.

TERRY YEO of The InSane Studio, Singapore

Known for experimenting with leather, plastic, crochet and paper; Terry Yeo is the Willy Wonka of the Singapore fashion industry. Born on 19th September 1979 in the Singapore, Terry has established his name in the industry by his wickedly original ideas and designs.
In 2007 he went on to study at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore and the University of Huddersfield, where he graduated with BA(Hons) in Fashion Design. Before he started his degree, he got a chance to work with big names of the industry like Metro, Giordano, Astro Boy Fashion, Beverly Hill Polo Club and Hush Puppies. He was also actively involved in design projects with Motorola, SingTel, Paragon and The New Paper. Terry has also won several prestigious accolades, including being the 1st Runner Up in the Young Singapore Fashion Designers Contest, a national competition, amongst others.
He graduated in 2008 and started working on his own line and opened his studio “The InSane Studio” in 2009. This studio represents the sanity of one’s dreams and making it possible as Terry wanted to create a new fashion statement experimenting with the unconventional style. Taking on non-mainstream projects like “Melissa AW15 Launch”, where dresses were made in paper for their
show and 27 ways to cut a tee for “Samsung Fashion Stepout 2013”. He loves to explore far out of the box ideas and bring them to live. He is one designer that doesn’t go by the trends but does what
he thinks is right. In 2018, Terry will launch a new label, “ThisLabelIsUnknown”. This fashion label is about exploring
the dark grey line between genders, making it an androgynous fashion label. Aiming to propel modern fashion and make androgyny fashion more accessible to the mass. This label also represents the unknown venture of fashion foresight as everything is now timeless and genderless. UHT as a brand was established in 2014 by Henriette Timea Udvar with her business partner Gergely Tóth. As a textile designer, stylist and fashion designer, Henriette is able to serve a wide range of clients. The brand wants to serve their customers extendedly, such as outfit, casual, wedding dresses, accessories and last but not least home textiles. Painting is also very close to the designer’s heart, so in her spare time she is happy to be creative with her brushes and colors to amaze human sensitivity. More of her work can be found on her social media platforms or on her website. Sustainability has always been close to the brand, but specifically when she moved to Sweden in 2015. She became aware that what she was doing was good and she should work with even more attention in this field as well. She sees fashion more than just fashion. This is the STYLE. The personal contact with her clients is important to her to judge the real requirements to recommend her design creativity or the ready and go creations what also can be customized. It always puts the woman, the delicate and fragile body at the center of her creative imagination. What are the colors, silhouettes and fabrics in which a woman can be a real woman? She creates her portfolio using high quality fabrics. Henriette adores travelling and purchasing fabrics and materials from different countries. If she sees something in which she falls in love and correlate with the atmosphere of the given country then she is willing to make a deal even in a Moroccan flea market. She occasionally paints her textiles by hand or by home-made screening with her designed motives. She does also the motives infinity on the textiles so her final design becoming super unique. The other example is when she purchased the whole collection of a traditional wedding dress store and completely sparkled them up in line with the latest market trend.
The 2022 collection at the UHT are evening and wedding dressings. The collection was inspired by luxury, Hungarian folklore and the finesse of soul of women in the name of sustainability. The motives of Hungarian embroidery are implanted in the colors of the modern world. The dresses are decorated with luxurious beads and sequins. As raw materials silk and laces are extremely close to my heart being appearing in the dresses. Awareness also played a role in the selection of textiles. Organic cotton also appears partially in my well selected portfolio. The 100% silk and other synthetic fiber products have been used from previous competences. I usually emphasize the women and the natural beauty what are part of everyday life and in harmony with nature. UHT is a brand, art, way of life. Life is beautiful, nature is forever and we, humans are guests in it. On a trip! While we are living our Worlds on Planet Earth, we should protect and take care of our environment, and we should get to know it! We received it as a gift, and we also are gifts to Earth! To me, clothing means natural femininity, feminine beauty, eroticism and fertility and in my work, I adjust this to souls of women. This reflects back in everything I do, in designing clothing, in painting and in texture design. I study our existence with passion, respect, growing hunger for knowledge, our health and happiness, before I create my products. I am inspired by every area of the World which I study or travel to, from nature and from my experiences. Eva Ignis is a brand of designer accessories who presented a wonderful collection of masks – a piece of garment that has inevitably become an essential element in everyday outfits – to elevate a mere functional object into a fashionable means of expression.
This brand was created in 2020 in Moscow. The creator is Eugenia Khrenova, a historian, linguist, jeweler and self-taught artist who came to excel in multiple creative spheres, such as artistic forging, sewing of stage costumes, and creation of accessories with the wire wrap technique. The flaming heart, the passion, the energy, the strength of the feelings and the intense light are the conceptual fulcrum of the Eva Ignis creations. If you need to feel these emotions you will get them wearing these jewels. Ignis is the Latin for Fire. Ignis are the wings behind your back. Ignis is the freedom to be yourself. Ignis is to blaze and not being burnt. Ignis is curiosity and thirst for life. Ignis is the light that gives off heat. You are what you are. You are unique. You are wonderful. You are Light.

In 2017 I've finally decided to fulfill my dream, to open a small business fashion house, where I was a designer. My career began after that. We mostly were engaged in designing clothes with national symbols. This point was really important to me. I am always trying to keep that national spirit in all my designs. Because it is unique. Up to now, I’ve participated in different fashion shows, that are played a vast role in my career too.
