However, her diary poses more questions than it does answers. With suitors lining up for 19-year-old Kathleen Purcell, will Jack Bowlen ever get the Canadian two step right? Will Ron Rogan keep his hands to himself? But most importantly for Damian’s very existence, will she notice the dapper fly boy who has just returned from active service?
His mother’s charming journal is hilariously contrasted with his father Adrian’s retirement diary that bookends his parent’s loving relationship and sadly, reveals the tragedy that brought it to an end. The creator and star of the Netflix hit film The Merger uses his powerful gift for storytelling to recast his parents in a funny and poignant double feature of love and loss.

​THIS IS NOT OUR OFFICIAL MEDIA VISIT TO The Comic's Lounge, but I thought I'd share Sam Mark Bell's genuine review because it is really good and good things are are meant to be shared:
There aren’t many opportunities in todays modern world, for an audience to experience true, lawful chaos. Luckily, The Comics Lounge has seen fit to fill this niche. Their recurring showcase of Professional Comedians New Material, is nothing if not chaotic. With each comedian throwing everything into the wall in order to see what sticks, audiences are treated to a truly eclectic mix of tones, topics, performance styles and humour quality. Lines are crossed, punchlines are unfinished and at times it seems like the acts are making it up as they go. Combine this with a small group of truly dedicated hecklers, intent on making the talent work for their laughs, along with a crowd of people attracted by such shenanigans, and you get one hell of a night. By it’s very nature, this is not a show for everyone. All those on stage are pushing the boundaries to see just how far they can stretch.
Not every joke lands of course. Some sets are more experimental than others, but that’s half the fun. Having a giggle while the guy next to you chokes on their drink, or embracing the awkward silence as the comic scrubs the most recent joke from their set list. Either way, every comic present seems to take personal offense to political correctness and aims to remedy it singlehandedly. A collective vendetta that is aided by virtue of the events 18+ nature and the ready availability of alcohol. Foul language, a deconstruction of all things sexual, and every racial stereotype you have ever heard of abound.
For those unbothered by such social taboos, The Comics Lounge offers everything you could want. A cast of incredible headliners, a bar with a dangerous variety of cocktails, 3 course meal options, and of course, the opportunity to laugh yourself silly. At the tail end of Covid -19 and as we look to be going into yet another lockdown, we could all use a laugh or two. So for the thick skinned with a night free, The Comics Lounge should be at the top of your to do list. While it’s still open, leave the kids at home and don’t invite anyone easily offended. Get on the beers and have a great time.

Like most Canadians, Catherine was raised to be polite. As she gets older and after years in Australia, she kind of can’t be bothered. Sorry. Please and Thank Yous will have you snorting (laughs, not coke) as Catherine battles to overcome her good girl persona.
Catherine’s debut hour of stand up is about the high expectations we live with, wrapped in jokes about breastfeeding mishaps and masturbating dogs. Catherine McClintock is a comedian, nurse, mum and certified fun person. She is also a smug Canadian who married a Tasmanian. The two-time RAW Comedy state-finalist has performed all over Tasmania and now Victoria – fancy!
In her spare time Catherine loves long walks on the beach. Ok, short walks. Ok, the beach is visible on her laptop screensaver... in her lounge room, where she sits with air-con, chocolate and Netflix. Catherine McClintock is apologetically naughty, like your best straight-laced friend who’s had too much champers. After a cracking start at Fringe at the Edge of the World and Laughs of Launnie Comedy Festival, the former Tassie-based comedian brings Please and Thank Yous to the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival. In her debut solo stand-up show, Catherine skilfully identifies the expectations we live with and joyfully rejects them. A unique voice on the comedy scene, audiences will delight in Catherine’s insightful observations wrapped in silly, scrote-covered packaging (expect a scrotum joke or three).
A two-time RAW Comedy state-finalist, Catherine has been a fixture of the Tasmanian comedy scene since her debut, performing at Fresh Comedy, Jokers Comedy and many others, supporting acts such as Judith Lucy, Sam Simmons, Randy and Claire Hooper. The happy and silly Canadian moved to Australia in the mid-2000s where she met and married her husband, Bob, who promised her they’d live in Tasmania for “just two years” … which turned into thirteen. But who’s counting? Now based in Melbourne, Catherine is also a mum to two young children and a registered nurse. She battles a rare autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis that no one can pronounce. The doctors tell her she’s one in one hundred thousand but she likes to tell people one in a million. Audiences think so too.

I found it very cringeworthy, and it reminded me of a couple of drunk guys at a party who are just laughing too hard at their own jokes but weren’t at all funny. The delivery & performance was loose, material was weak, good topics but overall it missed the mark as their points and delivery wasn’t funny. It would be good if the actors weren’t laughing themselves so hard at their own jokes to deliver lines properly, crass too much spitting in a small live venue, audience doesn’t come to a comedy show to be covered in actors saliva and fluids..."
