Catherine McClintock in Please and Thank Yous

16/9/2019

Melbourne Fringe Festival and personally Catherine McClintock cordially invite you to experience
Catherine McClintock in Please and Thank Yous - Melbourne Fringe Festival
DATES: 19 – 24 September 2019 at 9:30 pm, 50 minutes show
VENUE: The Rattlesnake Saloon, 140 Lygon St, Carlton
WEBSITE: https://melbournefringe.com.au/…/catherine-mcclintock-plea…/

Like most Canadians, Catherine was raised to be polite. As she gets older and after years in Australia, she kind of can’t be bothered. Sorry. Please and Thank Yous will have you snorting (laughs, not coke) as Catherine battles to overcome her good girl persona.
Catherine’s debut hour of stand up is about the high expectations we live with, wrapped in jokes about breastfeeding mishaps and masturbating dogs. Catherine McClintock is a comedian, nurse, mum and certified fun person. She is also a smug Canadian who married a Tasmanian. The two-time RAW Comedy state-finalist has performed all over Tasmania and now Victoria – fancy!
In her spare time Catherine loves long walks on the beach. Ok, short walks. Ok, the beach is visible on her laptop screensaver... in her lounge room, where she sits with air-con, chocolate and Netflix. Warning: Contains moderate coarse language, some infrequent/low pressure audience interaction, potentially triggering content or themes, including Drug References,Sexual References,Death
Catherine McClintock is apologetically naughty, like your best straight-laced friend who’s had too much champers. After a cracking start at Fringe at the Edge of the World and Laughs of Launnie Comedy Festival, the former Tassie-based comedian brings Please and Thank Yous to the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival. In her debut solo stand-up show, Catherine skilfully identifies the expectations we live with and joyfully rejects them. A unique voice on the comedy scene, audiences will delight in Catherine’s insightful observations wrapped in silly, scrote-covered packaging (expect a scrotum joke or three).
A two-time RAW Comedy state-finalist, Catherine has been a fixture of the Tasmanian comedy scene since her debut, performing at Fresh Comedy, Jokers Comedy and many others, supporting acts such as Judith Lucy, Sam Simmons, Randy and Claire Hooper. The happy and silly Canadian moved to Australia in the mid-2000s where she met and married her husband, Bob, who promised her they’d live in Tasmania for “just two years” … which turned into thirteen. But who’s counting? Now based in Melbourne, Catherine is also a mum to two young children and a registered nurse. She battles a rare autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis that no one can pronounce. The doctors tell her she’s one in one hundred thousand but she likes to tell people one in a million. Audiences think so too.
All thanks to Roslynne GW and the artist herself Catherine McClintock Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is covering the media opening night (media: Katherine Kelly and Stuart Buchanan) please stay tuned for more details.

Miss World Australia invite you to be part of
#NSWPreliminaryFinal
DATE: 13th of October, 2019
LOCATION: Sir Stamford at Circular Quay, 93 Macquarie Street, Sydney
#VICPreliminaryFinal
DATE: 19th of October, 2019
LOCATION: The Trust Melbourne, 405 Flinders Lane, Melbourne
WEBSITE: http://www.missworldaustralia.com.au/
Miss World
Miss World is the largest and longest running international beauty pageant. Launched in 1951, it has become one of the world’s most watched annual events, with a worldwide viewing audience of over 1 billion people. The President of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley, coined the phrase ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ more than 35 years ago and since then more than $1 billion USD has been raised in its name in support of children’s charities across the globe, bringing help and hope to hundreds of thousands in need. Among the many recipients of this outstanding fund-generating activity has been the Nelson Mandela Trust, Canada’s Cops For Cancer, Variety Clubs International, Operation Hunger, and the SOS Children’s Villages which cares for orphaned and abandoned children in 132 countries.
Charity work is integral to the Miss World ethos and part of the brief to contenders in each country is that they volunteer their time or fundraise for charity. All of the money raised goes to the nominated cause and the entrants’ records are credited with details of their personal contribution. Their hard work, dedication and above all, results, are what puts them in the running for the Beauty with a Purpose award in the international contest. Without question, it is the enduring popularity of the Miss World pageant that has helped spread the word and encouraged young women to participate in philanthropic work in a bid to make the world a better place.
All thanks to our friends at Miss World Australia Bohemian Rhapsody Weekly Magazine is proudly covering the both states events (media: Hakam Soufan , Neil Chand, Amit Singh, Hima Himani, Ashraf Da Rafsta and Murray Howard Brooks) please stay tuned for more details

NICA: Hard Sell

National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) and Prue Bassett Publicity cordially invite you to experience
Hard Sell
DATES: 17 - 21 Sep 2019
LOCATION: National Institue Of Circus Arts (NICA) at 39-59 Green Street Prahran Victoria 3181
WEBSITE: http://www.nica.com.au/event-tickets.php

Spectacular circus collides with the Sale of the Century in Hard Sell, the 2019 showcase from the National Institute of Circus Arts’ 2019 graduates. Set in a high-class auction room under the unpredictable gavel of subversive MC Mitch Jones (Australia’s Got Talent 2019, Autocannibal), Hard Sell sees 17 artists transform the stage into a bidding war for Australia’s newest elite talent. Life imitates art from the comedic to the dramatic with a variety line-up including trapeze, Roue Cyr, Tightwire, handstands, acrobatics to name a few.
A kaleidoscope of circus talent takes centre stage with Easa Min-Swe’s butoh-inspired movements, Troy Griffiths’ contortion abilities, Aleshanee Kelso’s acrobatic aerial wheel tricks, Stephanie Benson’s blend of gymnastics and performance art, in addition to 10 other exhilarating acts. Circus industry scouts regularly attend NICA’s yearly showcase searching for new talent to take on national and international tours, so the stakes are high and sales may be made!
Hard Sell is curated by NICA’s Creative Team consisting of James Brown (Head of Circus), Zeb Hunter (Head of Performance), Meredith Kitchen (Movement Coordinator) and Martine Howard (3rd Year Coordinator). Acclaimed Melbourne Choreographer, Stephanie Lake, The Anchor Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Katie Cawthorne and Dance Animator’s Director/Choreographer Alice Lee Holland worked with this year’s students as part of NICA’s Artistic Consultation series. This annual initiative sees students paired with industry professionals to strengthen their performance practice.
James Brown, says this process is the student’s final finessing before they enter the world stage. “This Artistic Consultancy process is the last step in amalgamating everything students have learnt, to blend the technical and artistic into a world-class piece,” says Brown.
Hard Sell promises to be sophisticated, creative, and dazzling - snag your tickets before you can say “going, going, gone”! NICA is Australia’s Centre of Excellence for training in contemporary circus arts. It is one of eight national arts training institutes and offers Australia’s only Bachelor of Circus Arts. Graduates of NICA have gone on to pursue exciting careers both locally and internationally and have contributed to the development of Melbourne’s vibrant circus arts industry.
