The Bastille Day French Festival is a collaborative activity bringing together the French, francophone and French-Australian organisations in Melbourne. The annual Bastille Day French Festival brings together the French-Australian community to celebrate the French National Day. Now in its fourth year, this vibrant and authentic festival of all things French brings a little slice of French summer to Melbourne winter. Bringing together a wide variety of Melbourne-based French businesses and associations who are passionate about French culture, food, history, literature and technology it is a must-attend event for every French expat and passionate Francophones and Francophiles.
The Bastille Day French Festival has a wide ranging cultural program which brings a taste of French culture to Melbourne. It includes the best in live music and performances, informative conferences about the history and culture of France, masterclasses where patrons can learn about French food, wine and culture in an interactive intimate setting, a fabulous French market selling and sampling a sumptuous selection of French food and wine and showcasing French arts and crafts, an art exhibition featuring the best in local French artists, a cinema showing classic French movies with English subtitles, a fashion show featuring classic French clothing as well as modern designers, a kids area to amuse les petit Francophiles, a Saturday night Bastille Day Ball ( Le Bal ) and much much more!
