We're excited to announce our first ever #LunarNewYearFestival here at our orchard in Wandin East! Our festival will run from 16 - 19 January 2020, to celebrate the beginning of the new year on the traditional #ChineseCalendar. The festival will be filled with a range of exciting Lunar New Year entertainment such as lion dancing shows, traditional drumming demonstrations, #KungFu demos and beautiful calligraphy shows!
We will be running a range of Asian inspired workshops suited for children and adults such as learning how to lion dance, play the traditional drums and also learning basic Kung Fu moves!
Gates open: 0900am
Daily Entertainment Times:
Lion Dance Show: 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm
Traditional Chinese Drumming: 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm
Kung Fu Show: 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm
Calligraphy: 10:30am, 2:00pm
Daily Workshop Times:
Lion Dance Workshop: 11:00am
Traditional Chinese Drumming Workshop: 12:00pm
Kung Fu Workshop: 2:00pm
There will be delicious Asian inspired food trucks serving tasty Asian treats throughout the festival as well as plenty of cherries to buy for Lunar New Year gifts. Ps. Kids 13 years and younger will receive free entry on Thursday and Friday!
Did you know EVERY visitor receives a red envelope full of prizes when they visit us for our Lunar New Year festival! These include prizes from Olinda Tea House, Global Ballooning Australia, Mary Eats Cake, Rayner's Orchard, Rochford Wines - Yarra Valley, Puffing Billy Railway, Oscar's on the Yarra, Chateau Yering Hotel, Coombe Yarra Valley and many more! Please note although we have boxed cherries for sale during the event, cherry picking finishes on 5th January 2020.

We began in 1940 when our grandfather, George Riseborough. planted his first cherry trees in Victoria's Yarra Valley. 80 years later, our family still proudly carries on this cherry growing tradition with passion to produce Australia's finest cherries. Cherryhill Orchards is located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, just one hour’s drive from Melbourne. Known for growing some of the best cherries in the Australia, Cherryhill opens its gates every cherry season for visitors to come and pick their own sweet, fresh cherries. Apart from delicious fresh cherries, Cherryhill have developed a range of tasty cherry treats such as their famous cherry ice-cream and unique cherry cider. There is no public transport directly to Cherryhill. There is a bus service from Lilydale to Wandin North or Seville which is around 3km from our orchard.
