Mystical energy was given to us by our ancestors to add to our natural force. It protects us. Transylvanian fashion brand, inspired by local materials, artisans and nature. The brand has long been preoccupied with the knowledge that has been left to us by our
predecessors. The essence of wisdom that appears in our symbols, tales, myths. These mediums have helped to bring order to our unknown, fear-filled world, to create a home, a security in our environment. Fashion is the heart of our culture . It is important to express our identity and aesthetic desire. Our roots, the place where we were raised, definitively shapes our perception and our view of the world. It’s a deep emotional connection, a value that we shouldn’t lose in life. ‘It’s the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important.’ Antoine de Saint Exupery. By telling a garments story I believe we can be real change makers. Janosiagnes brand’s goal is to present the concept, the mood, and the values which is coming from the authenticity, and ancient power of Transylvanian origin, to work with artisan workers, to present the values of slow life and handicrafts. Constantly striving to strike a balance between tradition and modern art. Using natural
materials, she targets modern, conscious women with her creations.
Jánosi Ágnes Anikó is a young Hungarian fashion designer from
Transylvania. Her aim is to make a transmission between the values and the power which comes from ancient source, and to make it livable and right placed in contemporary culture. She studied in several European high profiled Universities in Timisoara, Budapest and Paris, and made her professional practice in Helsinki. Her devotion for cultural heritage, and making a shift in our value
system brought her home to her own studio in Transylvania, where
she is continuing her research about ancient symbols in embroidery, their information content, handicraft technics, the power of natural materials, and handmade clothing. She is creating clothings from local natural materials, leather goods, teaching and keeping workshops about tailoring methods, creating concept designs, and also about natural dyeing, plant dyeing technics,
and eco- printing. Bringing back the heart to our culture of designing and clothing, which would turn back the massive consumerist tendencies, and depleted object culture.
