Miss World is the largest and the most prestigious pageant in the world. Winners include Baywatch movie star Priyanka Chopra.
On October 7th the Miss World Australia 2018 competition will begin at Market Square Shopping Centre in Geelong with a runway show featuring Spring Racing Fashion. Twenty-five spectacular contestants will compete for place in the Victorian State Final to be held in June 2018.
One finalist vying for a spot in the State Final is inspiring Geelong born Ali Simpson who has a passion for dance having gained remarkable accolades for her participation in the Adult Open Latin Division, ranking 10th in Australia. Ali is part of an elite athletic program for dance and has won three dance sport titles on both national and international stages. Ali has been involved with a refugee holiday program where her help and participation have helped transformed the lives of the less
fortunate. Ali aspires to use the Miss World Australia stage to share her passion for volunteer work and helping others in the community.
Another motivational contestant is Emma Nolan who has a love and dedication for children in the community where her work has involved being a child entertainer playing Disney characters for
various charity events. Brave Emma donated her hair to the Variety’s Princes Charlotte Alopecia Program to make wigs in March 2016. Emma endeavours to use Miss World Australia’s beauty with a purpose program as a platform to raise awareness for charities and encourage others to live a generous and altruistic life. Emma’s donation may have even contributed to a young girl that Miss World Australia 2017 title holder Esma Voloder visited recently. Esma flew to Dubbo as a part of her beauty with a purpose ambassador journey to meet with a
young girl who has suffered Alopecia Universalas. Young Alira started losing her hair from the age of nine, completely losing all hair at thirteen years of age. Part of the Miss World Australia funds raised last year went toward purchasing a wig for Alira. Esma spent the day with Alira crowing her as a beauty ambassador encouraging her to continue to embody what true beauty is on the inside and outside.
The Miss World Organisation founded the Beauty With A Purpose movement more than 35 years ago which focuses on encouraging women around the world to live a compassionate and humanitarian life. Miss World has raised over billion dollars internationally for their Beauty with a Purpose Programme. All Miss World contestants participate in the Beauty with a Purpose Programme and fundraise for Variety, the Children’s Charity who aims to better the lives of sick, disadvantaged and disabled
children across our nation. Miss World Australia contestants were able to fund raise over $160,000 for Variety in 2017. The Crowned Miss World Australia 2018 will be an Ambassador for Ozwear Uggs and retail giant Novo Shoes.
