The Listies Ruin Xmas (Wed 25 Nov to Fri 13 Dec), a new Christmas tale at the Malthouse Theatre by Melbourne's own slap-stick, gross-out comedy duo The Listies. Part of a national season in Melbourne and the Sydney Opera House, The Listies Ruin Xmas takes a tongue‐in‐cheek look at the Christmas season, rather importantly, doesn't dumb down concepts for kids.
The Listies are comedians Richard Higgins and Matt Kelly, who bring a fresh style of comedy to children’s theatre, combining slapstick, clowning, some utterly ridiculous props and their obsession with creating improbable lists.
The Listites' first comedy show for kids was nominated for a Barry Award at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and went on to five star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Momentum has continued with follow‐up shows touring Australia for the past five years and word spreading across school playgrounds that these kidults are the kings of kids comedy. The duo is hot comedy property and have this month released their first book Ickypedia; an eye‐watering, illustrated dictionary of absurd words invented by The Listies.
As this event will be very popular I am giving this opportunity to cover the red carpet premiere to the first media rep that will reply to me with a great offer.
Thanks
