NEW ALBUM A DECADE AFTER Britain's Got Talent WIN
Susie O'Day-Cashmere was lucky enough to receive a copy of the album before the official release date and she kindly reviews it for all our readers:
"ON STAGE”
GENRE: Opera
“On Stage” is the 4th album the talented Paul Potts has now released and it doesn’t disappoint. The former Britain’s got talent winner has once again blown us away with a mixture of wonderful and brilliantly executed musical pieces from musicals most of us know and love.
Paul has been touring for the last ten years and his talent is continuing to go from strength to strength. His performance of each song on this album is sincere and extremely powerful, brimming with emotion.
The selection of songs will appeal to many people, including myself and I am not usually an avid fan of opera. The songs selected from the well known musicals on the album, are such that there is something for everyone. It’s a well thought out selection and Paul’s magical tenor voice nails each and every one of them.
The songs include:
The impossible dream (Man of La Mancha)
Stranger in Paradise (Kismet)
Bring Him Home (Les Miserable)
If I Loved You (Carousel)
Send In The Clowns (A Little Night Music)
Love Changes everything Aspects Of Love)
Til I hear You Sing (Love Never Dies)
Mit Gewitter Und Sturm (Steersman’s Aria, Flying Dutchman)
Recondita
Armonia (Tosca)
Some Enchanted Evening (South Pacific)
Tonight (West Side Story) Duet with Christina Johnston)
Somewher (West Side Story)
If Ever I Would Leave You (Camelot)
Nessun Dorma! (Turandot)
Paul Potts sings every song with emotion, sincerity and depth. No melodramatics just beautiful heartfelt interpretations. A former cell phone salesman, belting out a range of Opera is not something I thought I would enjoy. I was wrong.
Paul Potts’ On Stage is a beautiful album, his voice is faultless and I find myself singing along with him at the top of my voice. Not usually an opera fan, I fail to fault this album.
I give Paul Potts’ “On Stage” $9 out of $10 on the “cashy scale”!!
