THE FOOD OF GODS
The diary of a British landlord, Sir Robert Williamson keeps one very exciting writing. It is about the ancient, highly prohibited by church ritual he witnessed. It took place at one of the villages in Wales in 1834. The old head of the family was about to pass away but before they called the priest they invited over the "sins eater" to the house. He was one of the last ones who kept the knowledge of the wise men / Volhvs / druids in these area. The ritual of "sins eating" was of course against the church laws. Those who preached these traditions were prosecuted by the church leaders. The man-druid was wearing the low hood that covered his face and he approached the bed of the dying man. The older woman in the family put the big piece of bread on the chest of the man in the bed. The "sins eater" started preaching the magic chants. He took a small linen sack out of his sleeve and picked something from there. While he was reading the ancient text non stop, he spread the piece of bread of the diseased man with the large sparkling crystals. People were standing around the bed in silence for another couple of minutes. The wise man picked up the piece of bread (with the salt on it!!) and left to the side. No one could see him again. The man in the bed suddenly woke up from his sleep, lightened up, and then he became calm and tired. Salt "collected" his sins and the "priest" from the old cast helped him to get rid of the sins.
In old times salt was dearer than gold. Salt was used as taxes, salary and was used as the first money. When people went to discover new lands that was the first thing they were looking for apart from water: salt or chemically speaking: sodium chloride. Who and how told the primitive people that they needed salt? The human body can survive without salt only for a short period of time. The salt cravings are not that obvious as thirst or hunger. The scientists know now that NaCl , known as common salt is required for the humans to absorb their food properly. Just note that our body can not produce it independently. The adult physical body contains around 250g of salt but we use it constantly. Salt keeps the moisture in our cells. Salt was shown to the people. Gods did it. There is an interesting expression in the Bible: "salt testimony". Theologists can not explain it even now. However every sacrifice in any culture on Earth had salt present. Why Gods required salt? Salt Testimony sometimes is explained as "the stamp of eternity". "You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet " (Matthew 5:13) There must be a sacred meaning for this words. How can salt lose its saltiness and its power? What else do not we know about this mineral?
Salt gets formed in crystals. Any crystal keeps a lot of information inside. The crystals are used to transform the energy. Scientists use crystals in computes, in space science and in nano technologies. But how did the ancient magicians knew about this properties of salt? Salt crystals absorb the information. People kept salt in very special containers since the ancient times. Usually they were the wooden boxes that were kept closed. The salt was closed for one reason: no any dark information would be absorbed by the crystals, nor bad energies or negative words. Kitchen place was sacred so salt was looked after very attentively. Crystals would be kept away from any of these.
The magicians knew that the salt powers were neutral. But humans would give salt its positive or negative powers. Salt containers often were kept in the churches during the services and after it would be taken home. Salt absorbed the prayers of many people and their positive powers, higher energies. This sacred salt would be used for different rituals. Such salt was added to the cooking food and to various potions for healing. Such salts were used for the readings too. Take a couple of tea spoons of salt. Put it in your left feast. Ask the question that will go on your subconscious level. What information do you need to know? Then carefully pour out the salt crystals on the black sheet of paper of black table surface. Take a look at the picture that will be formed by salt crystals. If you see a lot of sharp ages - negativity or some unpleasant images (like a snake or evil looking creature) than your wish will not come true. If the images you see will be light and soft with rounded edges (a child, some flowers, the sun or rainbow) then you are on the right way.
Russian naturopath Elena Belenkova collects old traditional remedy recipes. She got many of them that she inherited from her grandmother. Salt is a queen of these recipes. The oldest woman in the family is responsible for working with salt in the family. Such woman is called Bereginya. Each household has its own Bereginya. Beregiya is from the word "berech" means "keep". She is the keeper of knowledge and wisdom. She says: "at Christmas time at 1200am I take a pile of salt, I place a church candle inside this pile and I read prayers on that salt. This salt is considered sacred." She hides this good energy salt in the linen sack and uses it throughout the year. The salt with prayers is placed in many corners in the household especially next to the entrances so the evil people do not enter the house. Such salt in placed under the pillows to get rid of insomnia and bad thoughts. When you have strangers in the house place an open salt container in the centre and the salt will absorb all the negativity from the people.
Black salt was in favor in Russia always. It was called Thursday salt. It was at every table in the old times. The recipe was forgotten for many 100-s of years since that. It was kept in the remote villages in Russia though. Black salt is prepared in the Russian stone stoves, "pech'". Rye bread was taken mixed with the normal salt. Grasses and herbs were added as well as fermenting agents. The dough then would be wrapped in linen and then it would be placed in the oven with birch wood to burn. The bread was baked at 900C degrees. Black salt is a magical powder. Such salt would heal and it was sewed into sacred amulets. The salt would be taken with the travelers to the unknown lands. The oven burn would change the salt molecular structure. Such salt does not absorb water the same way as the light white salt. This salt would be full of potassium, magnesium, and calcium for it has ferments and herbs inside. It is a completely different mineral now. Black salt has a special taste.
The magic bread is made in the Russian Kostromskaya area. The house keeper takes large crystals of the stone salt and adds them to the rye bread in 1:5 ratio. Mint is added to this mix, then dill, oregano, Then the woman bakes it. Such bread smells so delicious. The bread gets ready when it turns dark color. Such bread does have healing properties. It is baked when the winter is almost over and all the food storages got already emptied during the cold times. This rye bread was always a great protector from any viruses. It was giving humans powers and lifting up the mood.
When the salt is present even the air gets healing powers. You can experience this miracle in the salt caves and at the salt water resorts. Artificial salt caves are built nowadays for healing to cure insomnia, arthritis and sore bones. The evaporated water that contains salt crystals rejuvenates the body, helps to heal any respiratory sicknesses and heals any wounds. It also cleanses your body and enhances the work of your immune system.
Closer and closer I am trying to get you to the thought that our natural water was always sea water. Some scientists think that humans and apes had the same relative: amphibian mammal that lived in the ocean many thousands of years ago. Our nature is universal: we feel comfortable in sea water and we feel comfortable in open air, we feel ok in the mountains and at the beach. In Melbourne scientists made a very interesting observation when they researched the DNA of the sea mammals and humans. It appeared that the dolphins are our most close relative that was part of our "branch" in DNA. What is it to do with the salt crystals anyway? We know that there were heaps of other technologically advanced civilizations who lived before us on Earth and it is already well known (not from the school book texts though). Atlantida or Atlantis was one of them. Famous Edgar Cayce describes in details the technologies of our ancestors. This civilization was living on Earth 800,000 years ago. It was an Atlantic civilization , not the Atlantis, the country. One of the cultural centers was at where the Atlantic Ocean is now. This civilization died out long time ago too. Shambhala was another sacred place. It was a quiet place where the Gods left to live as well as the human's teaches. The people who lived before Slavic nation called it "White-Waters" or "Belo-Vodie". The monks of Himalayas believe that there is a stone in the heart of Shambhala called Cintāmaṇi. It is the main and energy centre of our planet. It shines on the island in the centre of the white lake. The white lake is covered by white crystallized salt. By touching and eating salt we somehow switch on to the centre of the information that feeds us.
Salt is not the only one that gives us the "taste of life", There is a mix of the herbs mentioned in some old Armenian manuscripts. The royal family Arshikul was the only knowledge keepers of the secrets of this mixture. If the servants revealed the secrets to the world they would be beheaded. The royal chef was making this mixture of herbs when he was alone. The time opened the secret of the mixture though. The Shambhala grass was one of he ingredients of this mixture. It was fenugreek. This magical spice is mentioned in the manuscripts of the ancient Egypt. Yellow tea in Asia is made out of fenugreek. Sumac was another part of the mixture. Coriander seeds were part of it too. This mixture was served to the table to accompany vegetables and green salads. Tomatoes, bell peppers, capsicum, eggplants, cucumbers, spinach, and many other vegetables by absorbing the aromas of the spice mixture got the unbelievable taste. This Armenian spice mix was sold in Medieval times everywhere from Rome to India.
But the most cosmic properties had the King of all herbs: saffron. It was extremely expensive in old ages. For a pinch of saffron people would sell a woman or a camel. For the handful of this spice one could get a whole caravan with women, camels and goods. One gram of this herb cost the same as gold. It is a real king of the spices. It has high healing properties apart from its high price. It is hard to pick it up. To get one kilo of the spice you need to treat many thousands of the crocus flowers. Saffron is a medical herb. It was first mentioned in Mesopotamia 3000 years BC and it was used to color the clothes. Only the sons of Gods, priests or monks were wearing bright yellow outfits. Saffron has the sun colors. Such people carry unconditional love in their hearts and they are unattached to the material needs. But who has given people such a glorious spice? The ancient Indian legend says: Arhat Madhyântika brought saffron from the skies. He picked it up from the Aroma Hill and seeded it in India.
In Rome the wealth of the person was calculated by the saffron that the person owned. It was a currency indeed. The Roman rulers showed to the peasants their value in the society by saffron. The Roman emperor, Heliogabalus took the spice baths in saffron. Even now such procedure would be quite an expensive treat. Another Roman emperor, Nero asked the servants to splash his path to the world capital (Rome) with the saffron water on his return from Greece to Rome. Well, even now.... but rich people nowadays do more silly things. Trust me!
Saffron was in high value in the 16th century too. The Heads of the Venetian Republic were prohibited to receive any gifts of saffron as it was considered to be a high value bribe of the administration. Saffron had very important place among magicians. Saffron was used to evocate Wind. When saffron was burnt and its ashes were raising up in the air it could evocate Wind and rule it to take a certain direction. Saffron tea was drunk by the magicians to read the future. The tea enhances the extra-sensory abilities. The burnt saffron's smoke has the properties of "moving" things that are "still" The brew with saffron is used to wash hands before the healing ritual starts. It expands and gives power to hands.
No one could resisted the charms of beautiful Aphrodite: not humans nor Gods could resist her. Aphrodite wore a special belt. Her powers of love were in that belt. her belt had delicious aroma. The belt was so magical that even Hera borrowed it sometimes to put her spells on Zeus - apparently it helped in their Gods' rocky relationship. What was the secret of Aphrodite's belt? She sewed in the aromatic cinnamon in her belt. The Goddess descended to Earth to pick up the cinnamon herself as it was a sacred ritual for her. The priests of her temple knew about cinnamon. They grinded the cinnamon and mixed it with lots of herbs to make a very special mixture. The powder then was added to the boiled olive oil and put in the dark place. The mixture was sprayed under knees and on the wrists - the places where the blood veins come close to the surface. The properties of cinnamon were kept as a secret for a long time.
Cinnamon is considered to be the best out of all to evoke sensuality in men. Cinnamon is added to food to attract both males and females. It is a powerful aphrodisiac. Cinnamon literally means: "I am giving you my destiny". It means a lot. This spice has very powerful magical properties. The person who cooks with cinnamon gives his/her life to the person he/she feeds it to. Cinnamon should be considered as number one spice for the romantic dinner. When you add this spice to the dish you get a person's positive energy towards you.
There were cinnamon wars in ancient times over the territories where the spice was growing. Sri Lanka, where cinnamon grows, first was a Portuguese colony. The Portuguese monopolized cinnamon trading from Sri Lanka, Then Holland trade took over. Holland traders started planting the trees so they took the trade professionally for they were not satisfied with the wild cinnamon collection. The crops became richer. British of course dominated the area later. Cinnamon has antiseptic properties as well. It was added to the healing balms. Cinnamon cleanses the body and simulates brain activity. Wise men use cinnamon if the urgent solution was required. Cinnamon is used against flues. If you want your body to get balanced you drink the cinnamon tea. The tea that contains cinnamon, bay leave, ginger, black pepper, chili and cloves has the properties to help humans to stay allure and get energized.
The properties of cinnamon were known before modern humans started using it. Arians who came to Earth from the other star systems gave people this knowledge. Cinnamon's value is in its aroma, taste and in its magical properties. Only Sri Lanka's cinnamon has the highest properties and the Earth does not have any similar trees anywhere in the world.
We often talk now about pneumonia. The causes of it can vary. Let's talk about sbiten. What is it?
Sbiten is made out of
If you drink sbiten especially in the cold season you will never get sick. This drink was used far earlier than tea and coffee were discovered. It is a national Russian drink. Sbiten means "to collect" - collecting all spices and goodness in one pot and brewing it in boiling water. Samovar was the pot for the sbiten. Sbiten was sold in the streets all over the year in any season.
Cinnamon is used in aroma therapy. Its aroma helps to get power and assurance. In perfumery cinnamon gives the effect of aristocratic notes in muscular perfumes. In feminine perfumes cinnamon gives the notes of closed up and pragmatic character. Any flower aroma combined together with cinnamon gets a velvet aroma of "brown fluer". It suits people with rather reserved, attentive and "observant" type of characters. These people never share their impressions to the world and on the world.
Most of the aromas that we use nowadays in perfumery come from the East. Cinnamon and vanilla carry certain information apart from their aroma. Any Western woman that has short hair and wears pants has that feminine Eastern energy inside of her, the energy of the woman that gives pleasures to men. Such women wear the perfumes to show their true side to men: we can be sexual and vulnerable inside as well as the girls with long hair who wear skirts. The aroma gives men information about such women. Such females still carry the charms of a seductive woman inside.
The Old Mayans legend tells us a story that took place in the town of Papatla. It is about the family of an ancient ruler who had a beautiful daughter. The daughter's name was "Morning Star". The noble family did not want their daughter to marry to a common citizen. They made her a priest-ess of the spirits. The Prince spotted the beautiful girl. She fell in love with him too. They decided to escape. The temple workers could not forgive the betray of the priest-girl. They caught the lovers and killed them both. At the place where they were murdered the beautiful shrub grew. The shrub was all covered in ivy the same way the loving woman hugs her man. When the berries appeared on the shrub's branches, the temple workers picked up the berries and delivered them to the temple. The berries smelled amazing! They were vanilla beans.
When Spanish conquered the Aztecs, vanilla was the main commodity of the invaders. Columbus was the first European who experienced vanilla aroma. The spice was added to the chocolate that was given to Columbus by the chief of Aztecs. It was a great honor. In Mexico vanilla was the currency. Vanilla was the tax for the government. It was highly valued for its aroma and the spice was used in religious rituals. It was the main attribute at the weddings. When we use vanilla the lymphatic system gets stimulated , the joy hormones and endorphins appear in our physical body. If you want to impress your guests with the desert, use vanilla, as this way the desert will be remembered. English Queen fell in love with vanilla and asked to use the spice in the cakes that were made for her table. Vanillin now is extracted artificially. But the synthetic analogy is one very poor representation of the plant that collects the energy of the sun. There is no prana and life energy is such substances. In magic vanilla represents woman's purity, attachment and attraction. Female priests and geishas use the oils soaked in vanilla. It is a feminine oil. It matches the chakras that represent art and sensuality. It is the best oil for the erotic massage. Vanilla is responsible for the love opening. It eases the migraines, chronic fatigue, tiredness and depression. In ancient times people noticed that vanilla opens up the conversation and helps to create the mood. Vanilla flower was carried under the dress as a pendant. Vanilla aroma attracts and keeps people close to each other.
When the sales person tries to attract the buyers (s)he uses vanilla aromas. Many of the traders and shop owners use vanilla beans. They hang them in the secret store corners. Many customers stay and buy something for sure and they would not guess why they did it. It is the power of unconscious. Magicians use vanilla for the restoration of energy after the "evil eye" or / and damaging negative energy. Vanilla harmonizes the aura. This spice is widely used by the prophets and future readers. Vanilla stimulates the mind.
One old sultan married a young girl who was taken into his harem. The old sultan fell in love like a boy as the girl was so incredibly attractive. However to his horror his performance in bed dropped down with years. He was asking his doctors to assist him in order not to fail in front of his new girl. The drink was made for him. After this drink, the grey hair disappeared from his head and he felt young again. He felt so good, the girl have not left his bed for three days and three nights. Cardamon was the main ingredient in his drink. Cardamon is used in magic for sustaining love where it went dead and passion where is was required. Women of the East keep cardamon in their pendants which keeps them to stay young.

Ludowick XV had a nickname "the well-beloved" for he had so many women in his bed, but Jeanne Bécu, countess du Barry was the one he loved the most and she stayed with him for the longest time out of all hid lovers. The king felt crazy in love about her beauty and attractiveness. The day after their first night he admitted to his friend, Marshal Richelieu, that she taught him such love tricks that he have never known before. No one knew why this attraction suddenly was so strange... From the woman's diary later the historians found out that she made a special potion that made the King so very passionate towards her. The main ingredient of this drink was the root of love or our good and old ginger. She chopped the root and mixed it with sugar and spices and brewed it in boiled water. She also added wine and fruit juice to it to hide her tricks. After love making she was giving this drink to the King. He could not stop making love to her.
Ginger is the tonic to men sexual powers. It heals many dysfunctions in this area for men. From ancient times ginger was the drink of love for many world rulers. They used it to their full capacity. China and Japan emperors used ginger a lot as well. It was the true root of love. The famous emperor Qin Shi Huang Di was buried with the ginger roots surrounding his body in the tomb so the root would accompany him even after life. Europe followed Asians in the discovery of ginger. Confucius used the raw root daily with his meals. Confucius wrote that the root was good for memory, intelligence and mind. Ginger was great to fight with plague.
Ginger is the most powerful plant out of five used in the Asian medicine. Ginger tea helps to prevent any respiratory sicknesses. Ginger improves blood circulation and activates the muscles in your body. It also improves your concentration during the exercises and any other activities. For magicians ginger is the root of money, power and success. Ginger was a powerful gift for kings and emperors. Ginger is the root that also removes toxins from your physical body. Ginger was respected in the Ancient Greece too.

There are three Gunas mentioned in Vedas: tamas (darkness & chaos), rajas (activity & passion), and sattva (beingness & harmony). They are the threads that control the humans. Ginger is a shot-vich the spice that helps you reach the divine harmony. It helps you to get rid of your attachments including greed and helps you to get open to love (inside of you and the love of self first of all).
Arabian sheikh Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Nefzawi who lived in the 16th century had an eye for good looking women. He wrote a whole volume on the art of seduction. The book is called "Permuted Garden". In his book he pays attention to the sexual passion and the substances that make it last. Spices were the most important ones on his list. Sheikh's morning drink was prepared step by step: cloves and cardamom were added to the water that was put to boil. Just before boiling a pinch of black tea was added to it as well as milk. The drink then was boiling for one minute. Then more black tea was added together with ginger. The nutmeg was also added to the boiling water. The drink was taken off the fire and brewed for longer without the heat. The Sheikh was healthy and great in bed till he was very old.
So basically I gave you some knowledge to spice up your life.
Today we will cook again. We cook a very old recipe. I will use some old spices , among them: Celtic salt, cinnamon and saffron.
The mentioning of the recipe I found on @koroli.i.kapusta insta page. In one of their posts they wrote about a chicken Medieval pie. I modified it a bit because I could. It is not a pie , it is a masterpiece. By recipe it has chicken, almonds, sugar, cinnamon and much more. The @koroli.i.kapusta say : that food, in fact, is very medieval, where the ideal formula for an expensive banquet was: "meat + sugar + spices".
Venice is apparently the origin of this dish
Ingredients (as I made it)
enough for 9-10 servings:
2tbsp olive oil
2 medium onions
2 cloves of garlic
3g of dry ginger (or 30g of fresh)
a pinch of saffron
1 small chili pepper (I used one good pinch of dry chili pepper)
two handfuls of walnuts (the recipe uses 45g almonds)
1tbsp powdered sugar (I used brown sugar instead)
50g butter (I did not use any butter)
2 small or 1 large eggs
yeast-free puff pastry (I used filo pastry as there were no other pastry in the shops and used three thin sheets to wrap 8 tbsp of the cooked mixture. I used one large egg to polish the pies before placing them in the oven - 170 degrees for about 25-30 min or until you see the egg is ready and golden color.
The pictures show the process and the final product.
