THE MELBOURNE MAGIC FESTIVAL APPEARS IN PRAHRAN
Melbourne’s world famous Magic Festival has expanded for 2019 to The MC Showroom
After eleven hugely successful Magic Festivals, Melbourne is now internationally acknowledged as the centre of the magical arts in Australia. Our 2018 Festival attracted over 12,000 magic lovers including fans from the USA, Canada, South America, the UK, the South Pacific, New Zealand, and Asia. With over 75 different shows in 16 different venues, The Melbourne Magic Festival has grown beyond
our wildest dreams thanks to the incredible support of our magic lovers. This year we are proud to announce that we now have a second hub, located in the heart of Prahran
at The MC Showroom, where fourteen mind-blowing events will be staged.
THE MC SHOWROOM
The main showroom will host eight original and innovative shows:
 NO SMOKE NO MIRRORS (Richard Vegas)
A performance of theatre, storytelling and a magical inquisition into the forces of chance, fate and synchronicity and their effect upon our
lives, all examined through the prism of fantastical stories tall and true.
 IT’S WHO YOU KNOW with Michael Pope
After using mentalism in his corporate work for decades, comedian Michael Pope is appearing in his first one-man show as part of the
Melbourne Magic Festival.
 EMOJI CONJ (Ben Hutton)
A show that combines the ancient art of Magic with the modern hieroglyphics of Emoji.
 SASS & SECRETS (Cath Jamison & Aurora Kurth)
These powerhouse women will astound with their thrilling new mix of magic and jazz singing about hidden desires, untold stories and
clandestine dreams.
 CHEEKY, QUIRKY & CLASSY (Brendan Dooley - NZ)
With Brendan’s elements of cheekiness, quirkiness and pure class he combines non-traditional magic, original quick wit comedy, cheeky
pick-pocketing and insane stunts to create not just a show but an experience that will not soon be forgotten!
 THE (UN)CONSCIOUS MIND (Lachlan Wilde)
Leave your senses at the door for this kaleidoscope of ideas you never thought imaginable, featuring awe-inspiring magic that will make
you wonder ‘is that actually possible?!’
 VINCENT (Vincent Kuo – NSW)
After representing Australia at the FISM World Championships of Magic last year, Vincent is back with his most astonishing show ever.
 SUSPICIOUS MINDS (Simone Turkington - USA)
Magic Castle Magician Simone Turkington will have you questioning reality as she swings you back to the sixties with her mind-bending magic and toe-tapping, retro soundtrack. And, because it’s school holiday time, the kids will be thoroughly entertained with three great shows:
 THE JUST JOSHING MAGIC SHOW (Josh Staley)
The show is full of amazing magic, hilarious comedy, and lots of audience participation in a highly interactive show.
 WHERE ARE YOU TONY? (Felix Lee)
Tony the rabbit is late again! He has a reputation for being late to work. Felix the Magician has a big show and he needs Tony to help him entertain the kids, will Felix the Magician find him in time to start the show?
 MAYHEM! (Brendan Dooley - NZ)
Brendan combines his skillset of mind-blowing magic madness, insane stunts, original quick wit comedy and plenty of audience participation to create the ultimate experience for the young and young at heart that can only be described in one word… Mayhem!
THE ULTRA LOUNGE
A brand new venue created especially for close up magic, The Ultra Lounge, will feature award winning sleight of hand magician Josh Staley with his two shows: THE CONJURER AT THE CARD TABLE and THE COMEDIAN AT THE CARD TABLE. The Ultra Lounge will also feature a free three hour jam session called MOVE MONKEYS for those keen on improving their card handling skills, hosted by the Melbourne Cardistry Group.
