Following an artists residency in 2016, artist Yandell Walton will convert Walsh street into a unique site responsive projection art.
Yandell Walton’s work investigates ideas around impermanence, mortality and the otherworldly. Often working with architectural spaces or objects and combining them with projected images or light she is interested in the blur between the actual and the virtual.
Yandell is an accomplished projection installation artist exhibiting regularly in galleries and non-traditional public spaces both in Australia and Internationally. In 2015 she completed a Masters of Fine Arts at Victorian College of the Arts. Her award-winning work has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally in galleries and non-traditional public spaces. Recent highlights include Light City Baltimore (2016), ‘Best Of Show’ Award
at Digital Graffiti Florida (2015) and White Night Festival Melbourne (2013 & 2015).
You visit the iconic family home of modernist architect Robin Boyd and view the stunning light projection art exhibition of internationally-acclaimed artist Yandell Walton. You will witness eight incredible light projections within the architectural masterpiece of 290 Walsh Street, South Yarra.
