Enjoy a concert encompassing the full range of #RomanticEra.
We start and finish with works of Ludwig van Beethoven - the Coriolan Overture which expresses the drama in the story of the Roman general Coriolanus, and the First Symphony, which despite its classical form was huge leap from those of Mozart and Haydn, and which alerted Vienna to the genius of the young Beethoven.
In between we feature Jack Schiller, Principal Bassoon with the MSO, who is to play the crowd favourite Weber Concerto, explore one of Wagner's few miniatures, Siegfried Idyll, originally written for the birthday of his wife, #Cosima, and introduce the world premiere of a new work by Luke Hutton, the 2017 Zelman Symphony / The University of Melbourne Emerging Composer.
